Where to start giving The Lindis a review...this is truly the BEST place I have ever had the pleasure of staying at in New Zealand. The view is absolutely incredible!! The staff are like family, the food is amazing, the rooms unbelievable and the experiences on offer second to none. I highly recommend the glacier climbing at Mt Cook with Mt Cook Ski planes and helis...one the most adventurous and memorable activities we have ever done!! The Lindis will not disappoint and we will be back...

This is a magical place......the setting in Otago, the facilities, the staff......the owners who have enabled this and still care for the land......thank you. A no brainer for 5 starts, well deserved and deserving of 7!

A special place in an exceptional setting. The service was attentive while at the same time relaxed. Because there are only a handful of rooms and other guests were out enjoying the wide array of activities on offer, it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The design of the property itself is intriguingly distinctive and it's easy to see why the Lindis recently won an award for best hotel architecture in the world. We stayed in one of the three "pods" which are self contained and entirely private units set a short distance from the main lodge. Finished impeccably throughout with warm and natural woody hues and peppered with well implemented details, each pod sits proud on a deck with the most staggering views across the Ahuriri valley and if you still haven't had enough of the vistas by the end of the day there is an enormous outdoor tub perfectly positioned and with ample space to steep two in the views. We walked, rode (e bikes and horses), ran and shot clays but in truth the highlights were the contemplative moments and gorging upon the constantly changing views onto the remarkable elegance of nature here. The quality of the food was excellent, fabulous fresh ingredients and complimented by the compact but spectacularly well endowed wine cellar. The consistently unobtrusive delivery of great service in such a remote environment where doing so isn't that easy was managed to perfection. Well done.

Better late than never with this review. Went to the The Lindus late October. Hands down the best accommodation experience I've encountered here or internationally. I love the Ahuriri landscape and the way the architecture has been assimilated into its environment is stunning. Now for the really important stuff - if the above doesn't get you, the service and food was exceptional. We were made to feel wonderfully welcome from the moment we arrived until we left. Lots of lovely touches to make your stay luxurious. Did I mention yoga mats in the room? Sleep spray for the pillows? Don't want to give all their secrets away, go visit and find out for yourself. Thanks Lindus team for an unforgettable experience.

I have just returned from an amazing holiday in New Zealand, where I had the good fortune to stay 3 nights at the Lindis hotel in the South Island. One can never imagine what one will encounter when taking the road and reaching the sculptural gate to the property. Beautifully hidden in the majestic landscape is this architectural wonder complementing nature. We got a beautifully decorated and luxurious room with a long glass panel covering the length of the room to allow the guest to be enthralled by the beauty offered by nature. The food doesn’t come short. Scrumptious breakfast is served every morning for every possible taste. Lunch and dinner is prepared to very high culinary standards . I am still thinking about the delicious home made pasta with mushrooms from the hotel garden that I got served on one of the evenings. The hotel has a incredible wine menu to match its food. As for activities, if one wants to be active there’s so much to do. Horseback riding, hikes, bicycle rides, clay Pigeon shooting, river and pond fishing, or soak in the hot tub at night for stargazing. My 3 days went very quickly and it was sadly time to leave. I can’t wait to go back and bring my children. I highly recommend a stay in this magical place.

This place is amazing. Views, Service, Comfort & Decor, Dinners and Breakfast were 1st class. Loved the horse riding and fly fishing and hope to try the Archery , Clay pigeon shooting on my next visit. We are fortunate to have visited many great destinations in Europe, the America's and Asia and this is up there with the best. Well done to the entire team and thank you !!
