I'm gonna start with the bad side. I am very angry because the meeting point is at Akaroa and the monitoring is at ONE HOUR DRIVE from the town. The road is narrow, with a lot of turns and very dangerous. I spent the full ride praying for my life because I am terrified of the heights and I get easily sick on the road. That means that I had to spend 2 hours feeling very bad. I would have never taken that tour if i knew it!!!! Plus, we were coming from Christchurch so you have to add almost 1.5 to get to Akaroa and same to go back at the motel. In total almost 5 hours to spend 2 hours on site. It absolutely does not worth it for us! If we had known, we would have adopted a penguin instead of going on the tour. The penguins are cute and we have learnt a lot about them.

A truly unforgettable experience !! A must do when at Akaroa!! We chose the 24 hour package and this was just perfect for our family (one 11 year old and one 7 year old). The option of walking or being dropped off worked great for us. Our French guides were fantastic, knowledgeable and caring! The views were breathtaking. Our morning kayak was so peaceful! This Company ticks all the boxes: great activity, good price and green tourism. A huge thumb up for the whole team and all the conservation work done for helping with the Little Penguins. THANK YOU!!!!

Went for the 4-hour tour, I'm really impressed with the conservation efforts being done for the penguins. Highly recommended. Plus i got to see seals on the site as well. Tour guide was very accomodating and informative. I would definitely go for the 24-hour tour next time.

Beautiful scenery, amazing instructor, went as a group of three and we all came away very impressed with the experience, such a nice way to spend the day. Love the conservation side of it too, and got to see lots of penguins and seals!

Got a chance to see little penguins and a lot of seals in the wild when kayaking. Had a 4wd through the scenic views. The guid is highly trained in sea kayaking. Very safe to go. Giving 4* since I didn't see the dolphins

It was just great! We were very lucky having beautiful weather and calm waters. Kev took us all the way out of the bay and showed us some amazing caves and cliffs. We saw some little Pinguins well hidden in the rocks, massive black petrels and about 80 NZ fur seals. I would always do it again and highly recommend it, very well suited also for those with no kayaking experience. A special extra if doing it during lambing season, damn those 1 day old babies are cute. ️

We did the two hour tour today with our small kids. It was a truly wonderful place with gorgeous people making a real difference to conserve these penguins. Thanks heaps Ben, our amazing French scientist/guide!!

Awesome experience in Akaroa - a wonderful opportunity to see the little blue penguins in their natural habitat. We were collected in a large all terrain vehicle from the centre of Akaroa in the early evening and expertly driven by our guide, up the stunning hillside to the marine reserve at Flea Bay. We stopped a couple of times to take magnificent photos of Akaroa and The Bays, then headed down to Flea Bay. Our terrific guide - Kevin was warm and welcoming, giving us some local information about the local landscape, history and conservation projects of the penguins which was really great. On arrival at the farm, we donned our camouflage gear, our binoculars and set off for a sunset walk in the penguin community, along the beautiful banks of the bay. These little penguins swim up the bay and climb out the water when the sun goes down - watching them was just magical. There are hides along the bay - Kevin showed us sea lions and gorgeous natural birds. It's very clear the huge amounts of hard work this family has put into the conservation of these beautiful penguins over the years. Their passion and respect for nature is evident in their whole approach to NZ wildlife. This is a truly exceptional experience, which I highly recommend..
