The Little Bistro must be the best restaurant in Akaroa. We went there in March and really enjoyed all the dishes. Scallops (with the best Black Pudding) plus The Chowder were tasty as, the special of Flounder plus the Steak main - nothing left on either plate. And two desserts were really really good. Not the cheapest in town but I don't mind paying extra for really good food. Service excellent. Wine list by the glass ok (includes Pegasus Bay Cab Merlot). Easy parking close by. Definitely worth a try if you are wanting something special on your stay in Akaroa.

This place never disappoints. The team maintains a great selection of wine and the menu is small but comprehensive, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. Virtually everything is made in house, even the liquorice, and most options were able to be made gluten free.
Amazing! The service, professionalism and the quality of the food at The Little Bistro was outstanding. The friendly staff were attentive and knowledgeable and each dish was sublime. Nothing could be faulted. Make sure to book early so you don't miss out on this intimate and delightful Akaroa gem.

This place does everything right. Its actually hard to find this level of food and service anywhere these days. The two front of house staff were lovely but also perfectly efficient and it makes a difference. Just little things like perfectly timed courses add up to make a great experience. Also the food of course is amazing and reflects a very high level of talent in the kitchen. A must visit place.
We recently dined at Little Bistro and were treated to some of the best dining we’ve experienced in Akaroa in a very long time. The setting is unique and cosy, the wine selection is amazing (one of the best wine lists we’ve seen in a long time), service outstanding and the food, well it did not disappoint in the slightest. Presented beautifully, portion sizes bang on for fine dining yet not short changing you, and the flavours were mouth watering. Would highly recommend and we will most certainly be back.
Should be 10 stars. Our meals were stunning from starters through mains to desert. Each had a flare of their own and service was impeccable. Wine list is very impressive and the small space makes for intimate dining and meeting other customers. Thoroughly enjoyed and we will be going back soon for the new menu.
Still fabulous local, seasonal and beautiful food. Served with flair, thought for flavours, textures and attentive and not at all intrusive service. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
