Members are experts in their fields and speak on a variety of topics at conferences, meetings and events in New Zealand and overseas. There are three classes of membership - Member, Professional Member, and Certified Speaking Professional. Provisional membership status for those who have recently joined and not yet had their Membership application assessed, and for those who are exploring whether a professional speaking career is right for them. Only accredited Members may use the NSANZ logo on their websites, publicity and business materials. NSANZ offers training in 8 Core Competencies of Professional Speaking via its Professional Development Series, held annually in Auckland and Christchurch. The New Zealand Association is closely aligned to the NSAA in Australia and many members attend the convention held in early autumn. NSANZ is one of 14 member associations that make up the Global Speakers Federation (GSF), and all NSANZ members are automatically members of the GSF.
