If i had an option of giving zero stars i would. Pathetic service and no attention given what so ever. Had to sit in emergency for 3 hrs when there was no one else. No empathy at all. And when we took an appointment in private hospital and let them know that we are leaving the staff became really happy about it as if they never wanted to treat the patient. Sorry but this is a negative comment made by me ever in my whole life.

The level of care I experienced here was not up to standard and I was not impressed at all. I used to work here a few years ago and I feel ashamed. My obs were never taken whilst in over night. Nobody gave me any pain killers for over 5 hours for the pain I was experiencing nor was anyone helpful with why I came in. I had no idea if my baby was okay when the reason coming in was due to pregnancy. Ambulance staff where excellent and did a amazing job- I’m grateful to know they are doing their jobs properly. It’s unfortunate that the funding they had received to do up the A&E hasn’t resulted in better patient care. I’ve worked at a hospital and been in Australia for the past 4 years. Was very disappointed when I was needing urgent care returning to my home town of Ashburton. I do not recommend.

Admitted yesterday with a very painful broken wrist.I found the staff to be very friendly and professional, I was treated really quickly and discharged after being put in a cast.I can't thank you all enough for your care, you are all amazing.Special thanks to Scott the consultant, Junya my doctor and all the fabulous nurses.

I've got an ongoing medical condition and have alot of experience with different hospitals. We just moved into the area from Auckland and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of care I received here. The staff were lovely, they treated me with kindness and respect and I received my pain relief quickly. I did not find the wait time to be excessive at all, alot quicker than the larger Auckland hospitals.

Emergency department, although the staff are friendly the waiting time is HORRIBLE!!!! Something has got to change!!! I don't understand why the long wait when there are nurses and doctors hanging in the reception cubic having a ball of a conversation when there are people waiting to be seen. How long does it f***n take to check a patient like they do at the GPs. And yes I would of taken my child to see their GP if it wasn't the weekend!

I have to agree with a previous post that the waiting time at ER is really long.
