Too much headache for making claim, First time ever had to make claim but too much documentation. Will never buy again from this company. AA is much better than this.

I would not go with this insurance again we took it for our second trip which was great with no incidents unless you got in trouble when we lost some of our family belongings. You may wait for the insurance respond for ages and eventually nothing has been paid off to us. Lost money lost trust in this company. Very poor do not trust advertisements. Unreliable in the time of your trouble. So sad:(
Don’t use them, they won’t refund travel insurance even in COVID 19. All they offer is a credit for 12 months with no other options.

I have been a customer of 1Cover for the last 10 years, never claimed anything. Then Covid-19 happened, and I unfortunately happened to be overseas with my family. Immediately 1Cover communicated (as one of the only insurers in NZ) that they wouldn't cover any Covid-19 related claims. This put is in a very difficult situation (on top of being stuck overseas and not sure how to return to NZ): suddenly we were not insured! If any of us would get infected and end up in hospital we would end up with enormous medical bills. The very thing we wanted to avoid and arranged travel insurance for! This also made the 1Cover insurance worthless. Therefore we had to arrange insurance with another provider (that made no problem re potential covid-19 related costs). Because we paid for insurance from 1Cover for 6 months and we had still 3 months left, I contacted 1Cover to cancel the remainder of the insurance. We already had made enormous costs because of the outbreak and to get new insurance, with even more costs to be expected to get back to New Zealand, so I hoped we would at least get the remaining 3 months of insurance refunded. It took 5 weeks (!) to get a response from 1Cover and the response was a standard email (clearly copy pasted) informing us 1Cover wouldn't refund anything... Don't trust this insurer, clearly they will do anything to avoid having to pay. Completely worthless insurance and insurance company, never again.
If there is serious event like covid that you need to get out of the country in 72 hrs easy to cancelled but getting return flight not easy to get seat unless you pay another ticket. 1 cover won't pay you they won't consider the situation. They are not there for you.I learned You will found out the travel insurance is good if you have claim. Saying if you get cheap you will get peanut.
I don't think a review without having experienced a claim process will be relevant. I can say that the application for travel insurance was quick and easy with a user friendly process. The price also competitive. Thanks Jenny.
