I ordered sweet and spicy chicken and honey butter chicken, tasted great however it was very expensive for fast food. I could get the same better tasting Korean chicken at the night markets for less than half the price. I do have to acknowledge the staff very friendly and quick service however the food was too expensive.

9 Bowls is physically located in the same building as Han's Kitchen. They also share the same dining area but have different operating times. Most of the items on the menu were under 20. There are menus for both at the front. I went with the Korean option but my dad went for the chicken katsu bento and we were able to order at the same time. The food was delivered to the table when it was ready. For each item, you had options of having it on rice, with udon or as a bento box. I also ordered the taro milk tea and that was really good. The taro flavour was really nice. They didn't have pearls but had jelly which had a nice chew to it. The bento was loaded with the chicken katsu. The katsu was really crispy as it was coated with cornflakes. The rice portion was quite decent as were the other side items. Although the bento was about twice the price, it looked like there were twice the portions. It was a really nice place to grab some food even though it is a bit out of the way. I really liked the option of being able to get both Japanese and Korean food at the same time but their opening times differ so it might only be available during the weekend.

Thought I'd finally leave a review. Love this place and the food. Every addition to the menu is exciting and tastes great. Absolute best katsu chicken in Auckland probably. Will be back again soon ️

Food was pretty good, staff acted like they would rather be watching youtube than dealing to the customers. Can't knock that though, it is definitely a preference in customer facing roles. Chicken was over hyped for me, the honey chicken tasted like the bun from Texas chicken, really weirdly similar. Loaded fries are incredible though, fully rate them

When I walked in the floor was greasy. Table was sticky that I don't want to touch. I ordered pork on rice that pork was dry not juicy. The sauce on rice taste like bought direct from supermarket. Will never go again.

A hidden gem! Loved the dumplings, fried cauliflower and kimchi pancakes the best. The ingredients were incredibly fresh. Staff was very welcoming. Premises were nice and clean. Going for dinner with two toddlers, we especially liked the outdoor seating that helped the kids feel relaxed too.

Great fried chicken, can be spicy if you opt for spiciness. Bento and bowl meals are tasty and great value.
