Abysmal customer service. Judging by the recent reviews left here, I am not the only one experiencing it. None of their staff seem to be answering phone calls or replying to emails. I am trying my luck here on this public forum - it seems they are more active here than their work emails! I completely understand that this might be attributed to an influx of graduations post-lockdown and whatnot, but if you want to maintain a sustainable business, I strongly suggest being transparent about it with your customers and answer their queries! Please reply back or take my calls - it will only be a \u003c 2 min conversation!

The Academic Dress Hire is one of the official dress hire store of The University of Auckland graduation ceremony. They also work with Timelss image for graduation photos. The service is great but bit expensive.

**Updated 30 March Since posting this review the manager has reached out and explained what had happened. Since then I have been reimbursed half of the courier cost. Still, I hope action is taken for future graduation ceremony's, and regular contact is made with customers, especially if delivery could potentially be late. I would have liked the opportunity to collect my regalia from their store if they knew there were going to be such delays. Original 1 star review: Incredibly disappointed. I have ordered from here in the past for my bachelor's with no trouble at all. I picked up my regalia and dropped it off with no hassle. Until recently I had to order again for my postgraduate study, and ordered it to be couriered to be more convenient for me... But Murphy's law. The regalia did not arrive. It was meant to be by 'urgent' courier, and "to be delivered by 6pm the day before ceremony".. Which then became "9pm" and still no regalia delivery. I was also not supplied a tracking number so I couldn't even keep tabs on the parcel. I even emailed a few weeks in advance to confirm if it would definitely make it in time.. And I was assured it would make it to me. Now we are having to drive through at 7:30am to pick up a new set from the shop on the day of the ceremony. This has honestly been very stressful and has really tarnished my day of celebration which I worked hard for. Terribly disappointing and upsetting, be weary of choosing their courier delivery option. ONLY pick up.

Leading up to graduation was a difficult time, because I did not receive my Regalia on time, in fact I had to pick up instead because it had been sent elsewhere. I don't think this is what bothered me the most, I think it was the communication. This was resolved quite quickly and I understand that issues happen and things can get messed up. I don't believe for a moment it was intentional and I do believe that this issue stressed out the staff as much as myself. I appreciate the feedback and because of that, I have changed my rating on this business. They were, when I went into the store, efficient and when mentioned about delivery fee refund they were apologetic for the issues that had happened. Should I study again, I will return here. (:

Terrible experience. Got an email from Nina a couple of days before grad that my order wasn’t going to make it on time due to a ‘hiccup’ with their system. Near impossible to contact.
