We booked via First Table and enjoyed a stunning steak d lamb rack with sides and then shared a lovely cheeseboard that included 3 cheeses plus honeycomb, dehydrated grapes and Quine. The meal was delightful. Service was great. The wine was a surprise too. Highly recommend.

I am quite surprised that the restaurant has such high rating. The service is good but the food is just average. I ordered my t-back medium rare it turned out to be medium well. The texture was poor. I don’t think the quality of beef was good enough and the chef did not know magic.

Food was ok. The spiced tomato juice was good. Ambience also ok, no music playing from a speaker or live piano. Service was ok. We’re just happy to eat inside the hotel and did not have to walk outside on a windy evening.

Had the buffet breakfast after our stay in town to see the Cabaret, There was so much choice on the buffet and I asked for an Original Omelette , which was a cheese and tomato which I received in no time . The hash browns were a bit tough, it seemed like the old batch hadn't been cleared before the new batch but that was the only downside . Awesome start to the day. Had two meals at the restaurant (were staying at the hotel). Can highly recommend the venison. Sensational. The wait staff are amazing in this hotel. Nothing to too much trouble for them.

Hubby liked his steak. Beautiful relaxing dining room, with ambient lighting. I ordered roast chicken & coleslaw & got a unpleasant surprise when it came with green curry sauce & rice- very odd flavours that didn't blend well. Great location & they will validate your Atrium on Elliot car parking ticket.

This is the Crowne Plaza’s restaurant. Dinner- The food and service are okay. The only complaint I would have is the Hapuka fish [34] was much too salty. There is salt on the table, people can always add it, but you can’t take it out so restaurants should be careful not to overdo it. The roast vegetables [9] were very good- I recommend them. The carrot and cauliflower soup of the day [18] served with sourdough bread and the farro salad [19.50] were fine. There are plenty of wine choices with a glass 12 and up. If you are an IHG member they take 10% off the bill. The breakfast buffet there is excellent with many choices. There is an omelet station, cappuccinos and other coffees, a wide selection of teas including many loose ones and tea pots, lots of fruit choices, cereals, various nuts, lots of pastries, muffins and good banana bread, good breads including tasty whole grain ones, low fat and soy milk, a juicer/smoothie machine with vegetables, ginger, etc. to use in it. One morning there was salad, smoked salmon and curried vegetables but not the other day.

Friendly service. We had a vegetarian cottage pie that was bland and tasteless. It was basically a big bowl of mashed sweet potato. Maybe other dishes are better but its back to the drawing board with this one.
