This was the first stop on our wine tour and at first glance our group was wandering where the vineyard was (was not near the shop), the small lawn was unkept, there were no other patrons there or arriving in the 1 hour we were there but some of the group was asked not to sit on some of the other more comfortable seats, the man who spoke about the wines and the history of the wine etc got the translation of the maori words Awaroa and Awaawaroa quite wrong. It felt more like a shed on the side of the road than a wine tasting spot.
Sarah was a treasure trove of wine information, she gave us a beautiful tasting and was even able to tailor the information to make it interesting for our younger family crew who came along. The wine was delicious
