This is a very high-level Thai restaurant in Auckland. They have spacious seats, with creative dishes and traditional Thai-style meals on the menu. The delicious food looks great and super delicious. The atmosphere is very friendly and comfortable.

The Blue Elephant has wonderful atmosphere, amazing friendly staff who remember you even when you have not been there for quite some time. My wife and I always go there for our special occasions and they don't disappoint. Food is exquisite, try something different each time and the taste just sweeps you away. Well worth it!

Wanted to try this place for awhile, since it is one of the top Thai restaurant in Auckland. Had the sweet chilli fish and the blue elephant curry. The sweet chilli fish was quite nice, a bit of spiciness but not too much to handle. I wish the fish was meatier though. The blue elephant curry was more like a braised pork curry with ginger and peanuts. The pork was very tender and the sauce was a mix of savoury and sweet. Both the dish goes well with the jasmine rice which we get no limit in refills, that was nice. At the end of the night, it was valentines day, the staff gave us some red hearts chocolates which was a nice gesture. Overall, quite good, bit pricey but did not disappoint in the flavours.

Absolute favorite restaurant in Auckland. You can not find Thai food like this anywhere else in NZ or even LA/Cali. Haven’t lived in Auckland for 4 years and I still dream of this place. Unparalleled quality and never disappoints.

This is well above your usual Thai, and actually run by a Thai lady and her husband! Entrees are wonderful and more than just the standard choices. Possibly the best part of the meal. Go for the platter for 2 or several depending on party size. I highly recommended this place.

EDIT: Really professional reply! I'm literally sharing my completely subjective experience and in my experience, with multiple Thai restaurants around New Zealand, you usually get a side of rice with Tom Kha that costs as much as it does at this restaurant. And usually you'd get more than 3 pieces of chicken with it. Just average food. Wasn't really the usual flavour I expect and my Tom Kha soup had a total of 3 pieces of chicken. It also didn't come with any rice. The curry puff had been near fish or cooked in the same oil which I found unpleasant as I don't want fish and had to throw them away.
