Historians had believed the Lamington was named after Lord Lamington who served as governor of #Queensland between 1896-1901 My mate Ken the book man from Waiheke Island call in for lunch we had chicken sandwiches and Lamington sponge from the Bucklands Bakery the Lamington sponges from the Bucklands Bakery would be the best in the World Bar none Kenny certainly enjoyed it

Without question this bakery should get more credit than it does, particularly for their pies. I have tried many up and down the country but particularly for thick, flakey & not dried out pastry you can’t go past Buckland Beach Bakery - please go out of your way if you are a pie lover
