We came on Boxing Day for dinner and booked before hand. They don’t give you a menu and the first person that served us had a real attitude. We don’t know what they offer yet they seemed like they wanted to hurry along and leave, while telling us what we prefer so that we can give them a guide on what to say. Then they just walked away and another server came. The food is good but the service, for a first impression was lacking. I’m guessing they were very busy.

I gave it 2 stars only for the fact that the dishes were of generous proportions. They were busy and as we had booked we were given one of the 2 private rooms. Unfortunately, this room was 'occupied' by several 'uninvited guests',namely 'sandflies'. The restaurant certainly needs some 'sprucing' up,particularly in the 'restrooms'. They had bowls on the table specifically for the 'obligatory' free soup that one expects in Chinese Restaurants of this nature...but it never arrived. It was only after asking about it that they brought it to the table. We wished they hadn't.They had obviously run out and had just poured hot water in the pot of broth and served it.It tasted almost like hot water out of an urn.Needless to say,all but one drank it. The Crispy Skin Roast Pork looked 'divine' on arrival at the table, however, the old saying 'Never judge a book by it's cover!' rang true.It was absolutely tasteless [worse I've ever tasted in Auckland]. The Tofu dish was also the same.We had ordered Fried Tofu but they came back and said there was only steam ones which we kindly accepted. This too had no seasoning in either the Tofu itself or the mince pork. The Egg Plant Hot Pot was of an acceptable standard. One ordered Fried Rice Noodles but this too was not available and was replaced with Egg noodles. Some had remarked that too needed more seasoning. The Round Bean dish was fine. The Indonesian Fried Rice was also acceptable and the Sweet and Sour Chicken was tasty enough. At 25 per person it was on par with a lot of Chinese Restaurants of this ilk but for the above mentioned reasons,I have to rate it only a '2'. I have been told that they have had better days, particularly at 'lunchtimes' and I guess every restaurant can have a bad day but for this writer, I will not be going back when there are so many better ones out there.

Good food, good price. Was coming here quite offen, but after my last visit, I doubt that I will be back. Just becouse of reluctant behavior of the waiter, guy is totally with no smile and no life in him and no help, plus wait him 30 min. To order a food. Horrible service(tall asiat guy with glasses). Will not be back.

Great Asian food at a great price. Have dined here three times already. The roast duck with rice and Bokchoi for 15 was excellent at the price. Recommended

Authentic Cantonese cuisine And atmosphere. Wontons are big and plump full of pork and prawn, with some vegetables stock. Three roast meats hit the spot perfectly roasted, delicious portion. Brasied Brisket was ave, but huge portion. And free soup when you are seated Not great service 1* Will definitely come again and try rest of menu.

I enjoy dining here. A mix of old school and new age food.
