Our driver James (cheap cap number 113) was on time, texted me his plate number and waited for us outside terminal, our flight was delayed. The car was old but clean and tidy, driver was very polite and knows his way around Auckland. However his driving style was less satisfying, last minute turn and switch to other lanes, occasionally looking at and writing on his note pad. Could've given a better feedback if he was a safer driver. You get what you paid for. Airport to Auckland cbd 38 they only take cash, eftpos and credit card cost 4 extra.

I told my driver the price I'd be willing to pay, he turned me down, then half an hour later told me he could actually take me for that much with a 'surcharge' and I said no again, only the price I was happy with; and when we got to our destination he -still-, for a third time, tried to make me pay a third more than we had originally agreed upon. You can see these guys are well practised in trying to swindle people. In saying that if you stick to your guns and don't budge on the price it's a quick and safe ride to the CBD.

I ordered a taxi over the phone and they didn't show up at all. Called them, they said they went to the wrong address and picked up a different passenger. They apologized and transferred the call to a different company. Needless to say, I was really late for my appointment

I have used cheap cabs service alot. The ladies on the phone are so geniune and sweet, all the drivers are absolutely awesome. The driver still charged me 39.00 from the airport to the cbd , whilst we were stuck in traffic on the motoway for 1-2hours! any other company would have charged over 100.

My elderly mother hired a Cheap Cabs driver today who was from La La land. He wasn't wearing a mandatory mask, he thought Auckland had returned to Level 1 and he raved on at her about how Covid is a conspiracy theory. What a disgrace to your company. As the Auckland mayor recently suggested, some people lack basic intellect. This driver is clearly one of those people.

After reading the reviews of Cheap Cabs I was really hesitant to use them. A recommendation by a local assured me that they were fine to use. I called them and booked a cab from the airport to Auckland CBD. They confirmed the price to be 39. When I arrived at the airport I went to the taxi rank and talked to the Cheap Cabs driver. He tried to say that The Viaduct was not CBD and it would cost 65 to take me there. I told him that's not what I was told when I booked the cab. Another driver told me that if I had booked then this was the price and my cab would be waiting at another place - further down by Door 9. My cab was indeed waiting and had been waiting for me for 20 minutes which I was grateful for as it was late at night. The cab driver was an interesting conversationalist, and drove safely and only charged me 39 for the trip and I paid 40 cash to somewhat compensate his waiting time. Highly recommend people use this company and pay cash where possible.
