Ok I'm not sure if means there are 8 different food stations or I had 8 plates of food. It's more likely that I 8 too much but that is what will happen in this restaurant. The choices are vast so I tried to sample as much as possible. I love seafood so that station was my favourite. To finish off the food medley, the feijoa sorbet was to die for. The only criticism I have is that there was no water on the table to wash down your food. The waiter would refill your glass and left with the jug. Overall the dining experience was fantastic. I will definitely revisit next time I'm in Auckland.

Love the new extras! Food is absolutely amazing and service is excellent! Just took one star off because the Christmas price includes drinks (champagne) which neither me nor my partner drink alcohol so is a bit pricey considering we get charged for something we are not enjoying. OVERALL AMAZING!
Fantastic buffet, with loads of options to keep everyone happy! It is expensive, but it's ideal for a treat or celebration. Costs are able to be mitigated a little by not going on Friday or Saturday evening. There is parking in the building behind the hotel.
Haven't been back since last year (about October I think it was) and never thought to leave a review. Have been to number 8 several times as and when I can. It's a little difficult as I live in Thames (1 1/2 hours away and I come by bus to visit family in Auckland. However, the food is wonderful and there's bound to be enough that will appeal to everyone. I adore seafood and a lot of the other things served. Not once has the quality of the food been anything but wonderful, but what tops the wonderful food is the exceptional service. I have mobility problems and I always let the receptionist know when I ring to book a seat. They always place me in an area where I can get to the buffet area without any problems and they check to make sure I'm happy and managing alright. Having said that I have seen staff checking other patrons to see that they are also enjoying their visit to number eight. As far as stars go... I give five stars out of five for the food... and eight stars out of five for the staff, from front of house to wait staff and the chefs. And yes, they are THAT good.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. You get what you pay for which is top notch food and service well worth the price! Had dinner here last weekend (27th of March @ 8 PM) with my family and the service was amazing! The staff are on to it and very professional. I took in two small cakes and they went above and beyond presenting the cake with little Happy Birthday note from the Eight. The best buffet in Auckland.
Went here with a close friend for buffet breakfast to celebrate her birthday. No problem at all making the booking (and that was even with using a grabone voucher!) and service and food throughout was excellent. Staff were amazing, friendly and attentive and when they found out it was my friend's birthday they brought out a little cake for her! They truly made it a special occasion for her and perfectly represented the hotel.
Having a breakfast in Cordis for the first time , it was awesome , come and enjoy the mocacino was great keep up the good work guys
Great options for a buffet. The meat and fish options were great. Their Italian and Indian food were delicious. The options for dessert were yummy. We were there celebrating a birthday and they give us a little cake! :)
