I cannot fault this company so far. I opt for my hour at 9 to 10 each morning during which I do the laundry, run the dishwasher, I might bake something, might do any ironing and I turn the hot water on for the hour (no need for the whole tank to be turning itself on and off 20 times a day!). Over winter, I will use a heater for an hour while the fire gets going. I am saving 30% easy over my last bills. What's not to like.

I moved into a new house and had there flyer advertising the last owner had a connection with electric kiwi. I'm on there site tying to find prices to compare yet cam not find them anywhere. Why are you not transparent with prices, need to put my address in, when I do you won't give me the costs you say contact us through live chat. Simple clear daily charge and kWh prices would be helpful. Not all of us what to go on chat when shopping around for a new provider.

Great Self Service App Easy as to deal with, good value live chat is great. Would be better if you could book smart meter install directly through Electric Kiwi rather than other providers as it's a joining barrier

Probably the best power company in NZ. I switched to electric kiwi a couple of months ago, and I was told within the week there was a problem with the power meter and the they were going to send someone out. The thing was: why didn't the previous power company Contact do the same? Were they just doing estimates all this time? which they claim did not happen, but I wonder? Also, Contact energies customer service wait times a ludicrous, where I was able to talk within minutes with Electric Kiwi. Great service.

There biggest let down is no number to call you have to communicate through live chat , that's ridiculous what company at there level doesn't have a call center in New Zealand ? Yes you are cheaper but not by much!! Changing power company's as of today..

hello there

We've been with electric kiwi for a couple of years now and they are excellent! Lowest power bills we've ever had and love having the hour of power every day. Highly recommended, so much better than Meridian who we used to be with.

I was quite happy with the service until I needed to contact them. No direct phone number. Live chat kept giving me a spinning circle and would not connect, request a call back and email options would not accept my address and could not proceed. Now very unhappy as a simple thing like contacting them is impossible. Bad customer service.

I started with Electric Kiwi when they had a contact phone number and I was impressed with the speed and efficiency. Now its no contact phone number, Live Chat.Wasted most of today trying to get a reconnection. Conflicting advice and silence is what you get. Didnt want to give them even one star. Lost my two accounts. Further info. After wasting the day i got an e mail apoligising for the stuff up, blaming another firm and stating the power was now on at the site. The next morning i got an e mail bill for payment 55 for a reconnection fee. Went to the site , and you guessed it, NO POWER.. Rang GENISIS, spoke to them for 10 minutes, and then the guy said try your power, and the power was on, God Bless you Genesis
