I been to a lot of antique shops in Auckland. Its my hobby to look and visit antique shops. No plan of visiting this place but just saw accidentally while driving passing by from long drive and reversed my vehicle. All items here are special real antique old items. Not mixed with random generic non antique items like an OP shop like most of the other antiques here in central Auckland. I just found out. that John Perry , the operator of this place is a renowned Kiwi art critic, historian , curator, Valuer and collector. there are quite few news articles about him if you'll just search him on google.

This is one of the finest antique emporiums in New Zealand. Curated by John Perry, a maven of knowledge, this is a destination treasure. I've collected material from here since it opened years ago. This is where to find exceptional gifts for your friends and family. Nothing is new. Everything is real. Quite the best cherishing of old craft and art you'll ever enter any door to discover. This isn't a shop, it's a treasure house. Highest recommendation.

What a dump.
Finally stopped at this curio shop in an old theatre having passed it on our way through Helensville before. Unfortunately much of the place was closed due to painting work but we'll definitely be returning. Found their Instagram page which (like the shop) is a treasure trove.
Lovely staff & very interesting things to see
it is sad not many good antique shops left in Auckland, lady who works there always have a guest around which is so lovely and she's so welcomed and reasonably priced antiques.
