I did a trip in 2018 with IWH, and they were SO HELPFUL right from the start! From visa applications, to finding flights and sorting travel insurance, they just made sure the whole experience went super smoothly for me. I was doing my own travel before participating in the IWH's programs, and after volunteering I was going to do my own travel again. That last bit changed while I was overseas but the IWH were so helpful and ensured I had flights and tours booked so that I wasn't left in the lurch. I was originally going to be in South Africa for 2 weeks volunteering and then meeting up with friends (but they bailed), so I ended up volunteering in South Africa, then heading to Zimbabwe on my own to check out Victoria Falls, then down to Cape Town to spend a week exploring there. It was just an amazing trip, and Cape Town is for sure A MUST-SEE!!! Zimbabwe is really beautiful too, I spent a good part of the afternoon bargaining at the markets by the falls. Loads of fun, and it wouldn't have been possible without IWH and the amazing team there, (and of course, the team over in South Africa!) :)

I went to South Africa for 4 weeks in 2015 with IWH to the South Africa Dream Horse Adventure Project. I have travelled to over 40 countries since then, but it is still my favourite place I have ever visited. I had always dreamed of going to Africa, and to ride horses on safari, but I had no idea how to make that happen. When I found IWH online, it was literally like my dream came true. Vicki and Shelby made everything so easy. They were always so available and helpful. The fact that they were both massive horse lovers, who had visited the project was such an added bonus, because they could answer all my (many) questions and share their experiences. And they seemed so genuinely excited for me. This was my first ever solo trip overseas, but I felt so safe and well looked after every step of the way. From the team that met us at the airport, to the orientation, and the family that ran the project, everyone was so lovely and helpful. The project far exceeded my expectations, I can’t even describe what an amazing experience it was. I could not fault anything from the moment I enquired, Vicki and Shelby provided incredible service and I could not recommend IWH highly enough.

Absolutely life changing experiences offered through IWH and even better that the team are NZ based. Become more like friends then your travel consultant and relieving to feel like you in safe hands even when far away from home. Professional, friendly and supportive! You will be guided every step of the way. Travelling alone to Africa as a young girl was very impulsive (and needed), but IWH made sure my once of a lifetime trip would be safe, right for me and affordable! Recommend them 110%! Thank you IWH!

Trip of a lifetime I booked my trip to South Africa through IWH. I was browsing Facebook one day and an add popped up and I thought, hey why not. Within 6 weeks I was on the plane, by myself, to South Africa. It was hands down the best experience I have ever had. In Johannesburg I connected with people from all over the world who I still call close friends. We visited so many cultural landmarks and things I never thought I would get to see. At all times I felt safe and well looked after. The bunk rooms were great and food fabulous. I also opted to add Kruger Park onto my trip which I would highly recommend. I volunteered at a wildlife sanctuary and it was beyond amazing. Without the support of iwh I never would have even known about it, let some spend 4 weeks of my life having the most amazing experience of my life. I met even more new people who I still Snapchat everyday, I spent time with knowledgeable people learning about African wildlife, and got to have so much hands on experience with the animals and sanctuary. Before I left iwh had so many phone calls with me making sure all my needs were met and that I knew what I was getting myself in for. It was great because it was also flexible enough that I added on Cape Town to the start of my trip, and Victoria Falls to the end, so I was able to be picked up and dropped off at the appropriate airports. Also when I got lost trying to find my guide at Joburg airport, I rang iwh at what would have been 11 or 12pm NZ time and someone picked up and helped me find my guide. Amazing experience and I would highly recommend. I’d do it again in a heartbeat

IWH are an incredible company and always super helpful with any information you need for your trip. Everything is organised before your trip making it stress free especially when going to another country you're not familiar with. Shelby has helped me with my volunteer projects and she is just amazing and I've left with experiences I'd never forget! The rest of the team are also very prompt in answering any questions you have too. I definitely recommend IWH for anyone, these guys are awesome! :)

I had the most beautiful trip planned through IWH and the whole team were so helpful in helping me plan it out and get there and when almost everything that could have gone wrong, did; they went beyond to help me resolve it so I could continue my trip! Staff are absolute troopers who are so obviously passionate about the work that they do and it shows ten fold. I did the Camp America programme, followed by some USA travel and then did 4 weeks at the South Africa Wildlife Sanctuary and it was honestly the coolest months of my life. Could not recommend IWH, Vicki, Shelby and the rest of the team enough.

IWH was so helpful with organizing my dream trip to Africa, and volunteering with all the animals I had dreamed of seeing in their natural habitats. Shelby and Dale were extremely helpful working in any requests I had to the best of there abilities.
