Mezze Bar is an old favourite. I've been coming here for around twenty years and it never changes. A nice, reasonably priced, range of drinks, tapas, snacks, meals, cakes and desserts. Always open, always welcoming, friendly and casual.

We had our team dinner and the food simply amazing.. Right in the middle of a busy city, a hidden gem bar in Durham and you can find comfort in their Mediterranean cousin! I cant stop eating the chicken liver pate with crispy toast, just soo yum! Highly recommended!
the food here was simple and very tasty . Exactly what I thought I was ordering appeared with no nonsense and frippery. The head waiter was excellent and displayed great knowledge on wine, which I severely lack. would definitely dine here again.
Location is great and the space almost abundant, with plenty of natural light. The staff were friendly and purposeful and the food delicious! We had a range of things and almost my first instinct was - I want to eat here again (perhaps in order to sample the dishes we didn't choose!) Everything I tasted was satisfying on the palate and I could easily repeat the experience although we never tried desserts as we ordered too many plates for dinner. Highly recommended!

Every time I come here I have a great experience. Friday evening just gone we popped in for a bite and a bottle of wine. Great atmosphere, cool staff and man the food is good! The only thing that I will say is there is no table service but I don't actually mind having to order at the bar.
