Sophia and the team at My Waiheke are true blue professionals and masters at what they do. From the first conversation I had up until the wedding day, we were totally on the same page about the look/feel/style. I felt at ease, taken care of and knew that no matter what the big day would look outstanding. When we had to move dinner inside (originally meant to be outside) the morning of the wedding due to heavy winds, I was completely at ease with the last minute change knowing that the My Waiheke team had it handled. Lo and behold, they took my vision above and beyond to create the perfect day! Could not recommend them enough.

We only used the hiring service to hire table decor and linen cloths for our Waiheke Wedding, as we live overseas and wanted to rent various these items. The hiring team was really great, and really patient with me as I requested lots of different quotes in order to see the prices of different items. Vassia had excellent communication with us all weekend, and even offered to drop off the items at our AirBnb the day before so we could start putting together flower arrangements in the vases. She then picked up everything from our venue and AirBnb 'as is'...we didn't have to do anything which was amazing! I was a bit nervous as it was challenging to hire items without seeing them in person, but everything was as expected and fit our venue PERFECTLY! I'm really pleased with the items hired and the process! Thank you for helping me create a beautiful day!
Sophia and her team at My Waiheke really took the stress out of our wedding day by making our ceremony and reception area look absolutely beautiful. As the bride, I didn’t have the stress of worrying about the styling or set up and knew that it was going to look amazing while I relaxed. Highly recommend, it was some of the best money spent for us on our wedding.
Sophia Hoadley from My Waiheke, was an absolute pleasure to work with and managed to skilfully co-ordinate logistics, furniture, lighting, & incredible styling to create an amazing 50th at Man O' War vineyard in Feb 2020. She was involved form the start , had great ideas, listened and engaged with all the obstacles that come from a hard to reach site. We had the most incredible experience working with Sophia and the MY WAIHEKE team to organise our wedding. I had very specific ideas about the setting and design to incorporate elements of Ayurveda, Yoga and herbal medicine into the ceremony and reception. When Sophia and I met for the first time, we knew we talk the same language and are very like minded. She was overflowing with fabulous ideas and put together a concept which she named ‘Bohemian lux. Sophia provided lists of potential suppliers which would fit into the overall concept and made my life very easy to chose every member of the team from the celebrant, florist, photographer, cake maker to entertainment. We worked and communicated efficiently all along the way thanks to the structured ’to do’ lists and documents Sophia provided. Our wedding day was as seamless and smooth as we could hope for which reflected the professionalism and dedication, attention to detail and passion of Sophia and her team. The outdoor ceremony setting was absolutely divine and incorporated all the elements of ‘Bohemian lux’. Our reception took place at Mudbrick restaurant which is stunning as it is, but Sophia took it to the next level. Earthy warm tones of linen, amber candle holders and brass accessories, it all fitted together gorgeously. Organising a wedding can be pretty overwhelming at first but looking back, I absolutely enjoyed every step and phase of the process without feeling stressed or worried. Having someone like Sophia by your side who is guiding you through step by step the process, connects you with all the right people and ensures everything is going to plan on the day, is absolutely priceless and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. We had the most fabulous wedding day and are absolutely grateful for the magical experience. Thank you Sophia and the MY WAIHEKE team!
We cannot speak highly enough of Sophia and My Waiheke. We organised our wedding on Waiheke from Australia, and she was so incredibly valuable to us. Her knowledge of the area and connections with vendors is extremely helpful. On top of that, she is incredibly talented with styling and has a great ability to turn your vision into a reality. Our wedding was just breathtakingly beautiful and surpassed our expectations. We didn’t have to worry about a thing on our wedding day because she was all over it, running the day as smooth as possible. If you are having your wedding on Waiheke… you must use My Waiheke!
Unfortunately we can't give rave reviews about our experience with My Waiheke. We did not use their complete styling services and so cannot comment on this, however in terms of hiring a series of items to style a wedding or event, I'd recommend using others on the island where possible. In comparison to all other suppliers on the island we used to organise our wedding, we found them to be very challenging to deal with. This began when they wanted to charge us a 50% cancellation fee when we wanted to change our order from hiring chairs (which our venue could now offer) to instead hiring alternate items from their catalogue (of a total greater cost to the chair hire). It took great negotiation to get them to waiver this...... We also found they were overpriced with regard to the standard of the items they were supplying. Of particular note were 1) 'antique' vases which had very bent bases which affected their stability and made them very difficult for the florist to use, and 2) the vintage games in which the threads of the screws were all rusted and the wood in poor quality. _____ To note: Following the posting of this review, someone from My Waiheke located mine and my partner's Instagram profiles and made a series of sarcastic and passive aggressive comments on our photos. I found this to be highly unprofessional (and particularly childish tbh), leaving us no choice but to have to block them.
We live in Sydney and decided to have our wedding on Waiheke Island in just a few weeks before the date, needless to say we had a lot to organise in a short space of time. After confirming the venue the first person I happened to call was Sophia and I am so pleased I did. Sophia is lovely, kind and generous with her time. On our first call Sophia kindly provided me with her recommendations and contacts on Waiheke Island, all of whom I quickly connected with. We wanted a relaxed wedding party to reflect our venue and who we are and Sophia effortlessly provided the perfect pieces to style our venue. We really can’t recommend Sophia highly enough.
