Overpriced, corporate nonsense optician outlet, with an unwillingness to accept responsbility for mistakes. Their optician gave me an astigmatism prescription that was the complete opposite of what I needed. The glasses themselves were fine, but the coating on the lenses was poorly applied and flaked off after 3 months. No apologies, in fact, I was blamed for this (not taking 'good enough' care of the lens). It was sent off shore (as with all their work) and took two weeks to be resolved. Given I had no problems with flaking after this point and didn't do anything differently, I was obviously doing fine. Came in a year later to have a minor adjustment made to the frame (thankfully they didn't charge me for it) - again grumpily told off for not taking my glasses off 'properly'. Unsubscribed from repetitive texts and emails and STILL get letters from them 3 years out. The sort of pestering that only a bad business model needs to get repeat custom. These guys were the tipping point for me to finally get laser eye surgery.

Went in feeling a bit hopeless coz of my crooked sunnies. I was dealt with this lovely lady Nancy. She ever so patiently helped me with fixing my sunglass and i was so amazed that they didnt charged me for it! i insist on paying but she nicely said that no need and i can just donate on their charity- unofrtunatly i dont have cash with me that time . i will definetly get my prescription done in this branch next time! Kudos for being such a nice and lovely person with superb customer service skills! This lady deserves a pay rise!

Had an appointment with them and they cancelled on me without even informing and instead got the next person to jump the queue. Totally disappointing service and unapologetic behavior at the shop.

I booked an appointment with one staff named Nancy in Takapuna store on 23rd February 2020, for purchasing the eye contact lenses. However, she didn’t clearly explain to me that they don’t have any available eye contact lenses color in stock which made me so disappointed after finished the eye examination. I felt so disappointed at her customer service, her acknowledgment and her attitude for the after customer purchase. I told her I need to buy a pair of eye contact lenses that day, I asked her many times if they have available stock in brown color eye contact lenses, she responded me yes without check, and she said she had brown color in stock. However, the eye tester told me they don't have colors of eye contact lenses in stock, so i didn’t buy any eye contact lenses successfully and spend 30 dollars to do the eye test. I have certainly terrified experience for shopping in OPSM and i will not go again! I need to complain this staff who called Nancy in Takapuna store.

I have to say OPSM in Shore City shopping Centre have been very good resolving some issues I had with a recent prescription and new frames I'd purchased there. It involved 2 return eye exams to tweak the lens prescription for my needs. On each return visit, the optometrists were very helpful and understanding. The lady optometrist on my first return visit (sorry the name escapes me) was very helpful, and the prescription was excellent for distance. However I discovered I found computer distances tough (even after persisting for two weeks). On my second return visit I had optometrist Martina who understandingly listened to the bumpy history I had had over the years trying to get prescriptions right. With my prescription history issues, I was more than a little concerned I was risking a worse prescription by returning, and also that I’d ‘overstay my welcome’ with all these returns. Martina assured me not to worry and asked if I had a plenty of time to work through a new prescription. Honestly I would have given up dinner to make time if needed. Anyway the process was very thorough. After all this additional effort I was particularly nervous about picking up the glasses for the 3rd time. But phew, they were good! It was certainly worth the effort and I am most relieved to have a set of glasses I’m happy with.

Grateful and happy with this store. Their manager, Carla, was warm and welcoming. She attends to every customer's need. I always have trouble finding the right pair of eyeglasses but Carla helped me find one that suits me perfectly. Highly recommended for their customer service. Thank you!
