Such a great place if you are looking for an authentic indian experience. Considering the quality of the food and price this is a total bargain. All staff talk in a really kind way. There is never lack of service or complaints in this place. I’ve seen every member of staff smiling and created a good atmosphere. All Punjabi kitchen branches are amazing and I never have any complaints. I recommend to everyone.

Stopped by the area after bouldering to get something to eat. This place was the only one open around 2130. It was fairly empty and was told that they were closing around 1000. Even so, I decided to eat in. Grabbed a palak mushroom and naan. The curry was quite tasty and came with rice. The naan was crispy and was a good way to spoon curry and rice into your mouth. Really tasty curry for a decent price, 15.50.

I used to eat here twice a week when we lived in the area. We have since moved to the far north and I have still not found a better Indian restaurant and make the trip to come and eat here. Food is always fresh and spiced beautifully staff are friendly and helpful and when they can they will go above and beyond to make your meal a perfect experience. I could not give punjabi kitchen a better review and look forward to the next time we get to eat here

I appreciate that there are increasing cost pressures for neighbourhood restaurants but that is no excuse for the quality standards to drop. We have got takeaways from Punjabi Kitchen Wairau a few times in the past but our takeout today was the biggest disappointment. Curries that we can describe as a swimming pool of gravy with hardly any meat. As a customer we are paying more but getting less!!!

Best food ever had in new Zealand. At most places they prepare food in creame but here you get options to get your food prepared in creame or without creame. Very reasonable price.

The service is bad and the menu is not clear. It says banquet for 40 for min 2 people. It has a list of 3 curries and a mixed entree. My partner and I ordered this to share. It was 3 sample sized curries. When we paid they charged us over 100. This was for 2 drinks and the meal. When we asked why it was so expensive we were only THEN told that the banquet was charged per person AND was bottomless curry. This is very cheeky that they didn’t inform us of either the cost or the fact it was bottomless until after we paid. Very deceptive.

Been a loyal customer for over 4 years, however since the new management has taken over, the customer service and food quantities have taken a huge hit. Fortunately for the business the prices continue to increase but the value continues to decrease, what I dont understand is, how does that help you keep your "use to be" loyal customer base.

Seems to have gone downhill from previous years. Very watery butter chicken with minimal meat content and chewy tough Naan bread. My special curry was also quite watery and lacked the flavour of previous visits.
