The scarecrow has THE BEST New York cheesecake I have ever eaten not only that it also has some of the best duck fat potatoes and cheese omelette available in New Zealand. The delicious food paired with the incredible location that is next to the Auckland art gallery, Auckland university campus and a quaint little park. The scarecrow is the best cafe option for students studying at Auckland university who enjoy great food and amazing atmosphere.

Amazing little spot for coffee and a meal. They have a stunning array of cabinet food and some lovely options on the menu as well. Cater to vegetarians and vegans. Fantastic wine menu. To top it all off they also have a really good range of groceries in the way of pastas, meats, cheeses, olives etc. Highly recommend this place!
Delicious Reuben with freshly squeezed orange juice elevate lunch to a whole new level! Not to mention mouth-watering vegetarian lasagne and great variety of in-house pies. Scarecrow is a shining bright spot on Auckland culinary map, an absolute must-go!
Absolutely loved Scarecrow. It's my new central hidden gem. I appreciate all of the care that goes into the place, all the quality artisan products and produce they have in store, and I was really happy with the 2 meals and drink that I shared. Also very nutritious and affordable ️
Lovely atmosphere, friendly (and patient!) staff. Ignore comments about cost - they're reasonably priced when you compare to other cafes/restaurants, AND they have decent portions quality ingredients. Going to make this my new local!
Always love their cappuccino. I got my coffee here almost everyday. Not only that the coffee is good but also the staff are very friendly, and the ambience is lovely. They also sale a bunch of organic stuff from healthy ingredients and responsible sources.
The Greek lamb lasagne was delicious and tasty. The tomato salad was so sweet, and lightly dressed. And the peach tarts were the perfect finish. All delivered to our isolation hotel with great kindness. Who could ask for better?
It has a cozy and beautiful atmosphere, with lots of organic high quality products to buy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was good, but not cheap. Overall, I’m happy I tried!
