Lost our bookings/appointments multiple times whether booked in-store or online. In the end they cancelled and refunded our order of 5 suits just 2 months before our wedding..all because we sent an email regarding our issues with bookings/appointments and concerns about a suit arriving on time (2 weeks before we leave the country for the wedding without fittings and alterations). We were expecting an apology for the service and for them to confirm with us a realistic date we could expect the suit... instead they said they didn’t want to do business with us... This left us shocked and frantically looking for other alternatives.

My made to measure suit arrived before my function on the weekend - not only was it tailored to perfection, I loved that I could personalise it with the lining and monogram inside!! Those touches make it feel all the more bespoke. The turn around time and the staff were amazing! I'll definitely be treating myself to another one!

Not a pleasant experience. My husband is quite skinny and it has never been easy for him to buy clothes, and suit of course. We were quite excited to have found this place at first. The place looked posh and the impression we got from the staff was that his tailor was able to do all the necessary alterations to fit my husband's figure. Everything was promising at first. Our experience turned sour after we paid for the suit. We were quite suspicious with how they did my husband's measurements - the whole process seemed overly straightforward and quick. In the end, we needed to visit the shop five times over several weeks for alterations and it was clear to us that the suit still did not fit well - although they kept trying to convince us that it did and sign off the job. Eventually we got so sick of dealing with them and decided to send the suit to another tailor to refit it (who, by the way, confirmed our judgment that the suit was not properly customized). And that's another couple of hundred dollars went down the drain for us. Total rip-off. To be fair, if you are a reasonable built and looking for hiring a readily made suit, you may give it a try. But if you are looking to buy, and at the same time needing quite major alterations, I would advise to go somewhere else.

An exceptional store. Mike provides incredible customer service and really adds to your day. You leave happy and having done what you needed to. The store also looks very cool.

I don't normally go out of my way to write online reviews but having received great customer service and value, I felt compelled to write one here, and to spread the word about how great Exclusive Suit Hire in Mt Eden really is. I wont go into too much detail, I hired four suits, shirts and ties for my groomsmen all of whom were offshore, all we had to go on were some very questionable measurements from guys without access to a tape measure. Anyway, Mike went to great lengths to get things right, he was friendly, approachable, knew his stuff, took the time to explain and explore different ideas and in general was a good guy. The experience you get is more personable than other places I went to, he treats you like a mate and tries his best to give you a good deal. The shop itself is inviting, not stuffy or has that corporate-feel like others, you are given the time to try on what you like and you aren't left to decipher on your own. There is a good balance between letting you do your thing and giving advice when its needed. The bad google review on this place is unfortunate. I really appreciated the level of service in the short space of time that I needed the suits. I thoroughly recommend you use ESH, I know I will in the future, and will let all my friends know where they can go to get great service and value for money. Cheers

I ordered and paid for my suits six months before the wedding. They were easy to deal with and I was happy...but.... 3 weeks before the wedding, and with Xmas and new years in between, I get a call to say they are short one suit. They are very sorry but my only option is to have one groomsman in a different suit, or pay 160 and get new suits. 160 later I go to pick up the suits the day before the wedding. But there's no shirts - despite also ordering them six months ago, they seem to have been overlooked. And they don't have any of the ones I ordered in the sizes I need. Apparently, for another 300 I can buy them! So I settle for plain white button up shirts for no extra cost. The lads cufflinks go to waste. The women behind the counter was nice to deal with, but at the end of the day I walked out of there without a single item as per my original (six months earlier) order, and feeling like I had been extorted! I mean, isn't the point of going to a hire company that they manage their kit and take the risk, so you don't end up in a 160 or nothing mess 3 weeks out from the wedding?! Save yourself the hassle and take a trip to Thailand. Or just go to one of the many other competent suit hire places in Auckland

Hire suit looked good. Great in-store fitting experience too. However....... Pity the jacket had not been dry cleaned This meant on 8:30am of the morning of the wedding as a groomsman I was forced to endure the torturous smell of a complete strangers body odour (BO) which had been left long enough that it deeply embedded within the suit jacket. Who needs a coffee to awaken the senses?! This is not a laughing matter though Needing to drive to a pre-wedding photoshoot venue 45min away in a rural setting it was impossible to have this rectified in a timely manner. With that in mind, no amount of airing could get this horrendous smell (of this complete stranger) out in the brief time you have available. Even with the window down and the suit jacket hanging from the jacket hook in the back of the car. Just don't wear the suit jacket afterwards you say (problem solved)... Having only worn the suit jacket for 15 - 20 minutes prior to driving to the photoshoot venue I realised this complete strangers BO, via the suit jacket has already started permeating through to the brand new crisp white shirt purchased for the day. During pre-wedding photos this foul stench had more time to envelop me, no amount of deodorant or cologne could mask this smell now, whereby by the end of the 30min photo shoot I smelt like a teenager who needed a serious lesson in personal hygiene. The suit jacket still needed to be worn during the outdoor ceremony on a warm overcast day...FML After a total of 2 hours, wearing this suit jacket I'd finally become de-sensitised to the revolting smell of a strangers BO. But this then makes hugging and greeting friends and family a terrible experience for ALL involved even when you apologise explaining that it was the suit hire company's fault for not dry cleaning. That was my experience, thankfully none of the other groomsman had to endure this mediocrity.
