Unsure of why I still come here since the building was built. They have never once been vaguely on time. Typical waits of 20-30 minutes waiting every time to an appointment. Very often first thing in the morning. Don't come here if you value your time. Plenty of other local alternatives that understand the value of peoples time. Try Milford doctors. They are happy NOT to see you for repeat prescriptions. How awesome and time and money saving is that!

I absolutely love my Doctor Miriam, she is so professional and puts you at total ease - very organised and compassionate. One of the reception staff can be very rude, over the phone and in person. I've been placed in the waiting bays (behind curtains) - and have heard the nurses talking about me twice, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. I have also waited for a long time in the reception with my toddler and then told my appointment has been cancelled for 'no show' when I was sitting there all along, obviously trying to keep my daughter preoccupied and had been to the reception to confirm appointment. Overall very average customer service, but I keep going back as my doctor is exceptional.

Terrible customer service experience. Waited 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and it wasn’t until I asked before I was told there was a delay and there were now 2 other people ahead of me. A bit of common courtesy to have told me earlier would have been nice. Not going back.

Posted on behalf for my wife. I’ve been a client of Hauraki Medical Centre and Fred Thomas Medical Centre for 20 odd years. I have been dissatisfied with the service for many years but out of convenience I keep going to this clinic. I have been judged by nurses when receiving a measles jab, apparently there was a scarcity (even when I explained I was in a frontline role seeing upwards of 30 different people everyday and going into their homes) how rude of a nurse to judge me for wanting to keep the community safe! My recent trip has put the nails in the coffin - rude reception staff, total and complete miscommunication by medical staff, unfilled prescriptions and my husband drives to collect them and told there is no prescription, 15 min holds on the phone - the list is endless. They have made me feel like they are just a money making enterprise and just want my 61.00 If you are like me and want to deal with kind, understanding people when you are sick - don’t come here. I’m looking forward to exploring other local compassionate medical centres for me and and family.

Just changed to another practice. Doctors are lovely but front office and support staff are unhelpful - can only assume overloaded with work as they're unhelpful and appear stressed which is not a great to pass on to patients. Test results rarely followed up, referrals not provided when requested, and the prep work required before visiting a specialist was not done resulting in a very frustrated specialist (& cost to me). Their app is also very poorly designed and could barely read on mobiles. Sorry, wouldn't recommend if you want personal care for your family.

tl;dr A receptionist here is defensive and incompetent, would give zero stars if possible The nurse was helpful in admitting a massive screw up, getting us a refund and following up by sending out a PCR Covid-19 test with Urgency. But we only figured this out after continually asking the receptionist for the results. Initially we were told to "return home and call at 11AM" After explaining that wouldn't work and asking if there was some way to contact the lab, we were met with a lot of defensive responses and dodging of responsibility. Not to mention a lot of errors and typos made by her on my medical file causing even further frustrations. Only after all that we were assigned a nurse to assist us. It turned out the swab hadn't even been sent to the lab. After asking the receptionist to forward or CC the results to my friend in case I had no access to internet or printers we were met with unhelpfulness and unwillingness to assist. Dreadful experience, not something you want to have hours before you have to leave for your flight, or worse, be forced to rebook a flight... I highly recommend going elsewhere lest you might be told off despite not having done anything wrong.

Ive been a patient of this place for over 10 plus years starting back in Milford, But Ive had enough of the Rude Surly Staff at reception, Always stressed and very short with you. And looking at other comments Im not alone. You would think management would read these comments and see these issues and address them. Looking for a new doctor in the new year !
