The New Takapuna is a new local networking group, targeted at "young-ish"​ professionals and business owners in the Takapuna area, who are looking to build strong and lasting business relationships (and have fun while doing it). The idea for the group began over Friday night drinks between a small group from BNZ Partners Takapuna and Simpson Western Lawyers. We were discussing the lack of networking/relationship building opportunities in the local area for younger professionals and business owners. Existing opportunities overwhelmingly catered to the Partner/Senior Manager level or to the student/new graduate category. We decided this needed to change. The New Takapuna launched in November, with an introductory evening at Simpson Western. We were excited to have 50 attendees from a wide range of local businesses. We have now held three successful events, connecting professionals and business owners from a wide range of businesses and industries! Through the New Takapuna, we are aiming to develop a lasting platform for younger professionals and business owners to meet and get to know others in our local business community.
