Peter and the staff at Turning Point actually saved my life. The team helped me not only to detox but to rediscover who i am and showed me there is a better way to live. Everyone there is so caring and loving but at the same time very professional in their approach to rehabilitation. I am so grateful for everything that Peter and Turning Point has helped me with, it is truly a special place which i feel is like a second home and they are my family. For anyone considering detox and help with addiction i highly recommend Turning Point. Thank you so much Peter!

The Turning Point has changed my life. Such an amazing place to be when I was at my lowest point physically, emotionally and spiritually. The staff are so kind and nurturing and have experience and wisdom to help you through the darkest most uncomfortable times. I have met so many new friends who I now consider family and made an amazing support network to help me through my days. I couldn’t recommend The Turning Point enough for anyone struggling with addiction. This experience helped me through more than just my addiction, and I have had some amazing experiences through the program. So so grateful to have found Peter and the rest of the Turning Point family.

I support Brett's view above. The Turning Point was a Godsend. Pete's contribution and encouragement was essential to Brett's rehabilitation. I don't say this lightly. Peter is only one cog in The Turning Point but his patience and understanding makes it work.

Quite simply the turning point has changed my life forever , after 25 years of drinking problems I was ready to stop I was sick and tired of being sick and tired , I had tried everything to stop on my own. Pete and his team showed and made me realise that I can't drink at all , but not picking up is only the first step , he gave me through the 12 steps a template for living a happy and much richer life and to be a better man and husband to my wife. The turning point is a private rehab and costs but for my wife, family and I this is by far the best investment we have ever made , there is no price on my life , and my drinking if left was certainly going to head into very dark places. The turning point isn't a magic wand , you have to want to change and be willing and if you are then Pete and his team will show you the love and compassion and the way to a better life . I am nearly 8 months sober today and there is no way I would be today if I didn't gather up the courage and make that call to Pete. I am in regular contact still and the turning point is and always will be part of my family and life , while the turning point is a business I experienced nothing but genuine care and compassion, Pete and his staff have gone through addictions themselves and genuinely have a compassion to see others get better. I spent time at the Nelson branch and you couldn't get a more tranquil and amazing place, I recommend it to any one in the cities of NZ if they want to get out of their environment and start a new amazing journey.

I was at the lowest point of my life with massive drug and alcohol problems. My employer gave me the choice of rehab or getting fired. I never thought I would be able to stop taking drugs. Getting help from Peter Dawson and his caring peer support workers helped me get clean and now I work hard every day with the skills I've learned to stay clean a day at a time. 4 months clean and sober , my life has never been better.

The Turning point has given me the opportunity to see a future that I didn’t think I’d be able to have without drugs or alcohol. I’m so grateful for the support I’ve had throughout my stay at the Turning point. It’s a comfortable environment - and beautiful property- with staff who are relatable and kind. I was anxious at first during my stay, not used to being around people and all but it opened my eyes to realising that there are more people like me, whom I consider family now. Thanks to Peter and his team I have faith in my recovery and my new families recovery too.

I am the real 'Simon Collinson'. My identity and many others on this website were stolen by the owner and used to create false reviews. The only time Peter spent anytime with me was when he was manipulating and lying to my parents to get hold of my trust fund, me and my family have lost almost 300,000 to Peter Dawson and the Turning Point. My parents and lawyer removed me from the Turning Point as it was unsafe, especially for me as I am considered high special needs and this place is only about the money. There are some things you need to know about the Turning Point, • Lies, lies and more lies • No staff with any alcohol or drug training • Fraud •Manipulation • Gang intimidation used against anyone that speaks out • Uses people and then throws them away like garbage • Thinks he is a doctor but is really nothing. S T A Y A W A Y !!!

I was a guest at the Turning point many months back and am now a public advocate of their facility. I suffered from Alcoholism for over 28 years and have since turned MY life around. This was partly due to determination and AA, but the support and care I was provided at The Turning Point and thereafter from my friends who I met from their program has given me the strength I needed to continue of my new life of sobriety. It was the supportive staff who have ALL suffered from addiction and now continue to live new enriching lives that gave me the motivation to push on. I would not hesitate to recommend Turning Point to ANY addict who TRULY has hit rock bottom and wants to recover in a caring and loving environment. There is no price I could put on what I experienced except that it was the best use of my funds and pays itself back. I volunteer four mornings on my week there before my actual job and value this time more than ever in my day other than I do spending time with my wife who now lives with a clean and sober loving husband. Keep the great work up Peter, Andrew, Helen and the wider team!
