Totally disappointed! She told me that bread is freshly baked so I bought 4 ube pandesal and 4 spanish bread. After 15mins drive back home we've discovered that its dry and not freshly bake. Will never buy bread from this bakeshop again. I remember couple of years ago the bread are quite good. But this time its way below standard!

One of the shore's best bakeries. My kids love the purple pastries.

Really disappointed with the quality of their bread. Spanish bread very dry and turn into rock the next day (normally it will still be soft after 2 days). Ensaymada also dry and crumbly and the worst part their Ube Pandesal it doesn't taste like a freshly baked bread - taste like a bread from 2 days ago. I'm making my own bread at home too so I know when the products are not fresh. Totally wrong Filipino bread shouldn't be like those and won't be going back again to waste our money.

First time to visit this bakery and expect to buy the ube cake. Bought a few bakery items and an ube cake but none of them live up with our expectations. I don't normally give the lowest score for reviewing a business but the cake is by far the worst ever kind of any cake that our family has tried. The sponge is really dry, the butter cream can't taste of any butter and we felt it was made by margarine. You can see the layers of 'cream' are thicker than the layers of sponge. The top layer is extremely dry (see photo) and it seems like the cake was in the fridge for quite some time. We only tried a quarter and have to throw the rest of the cake away. Even any cake you buy from supermarket is better than this. The comparison of the quality for the other ube cake that we bought from West Auckland previously was "heaven to hell" . If I have try this ube cake first rather than the one from West Auckland, I won't eat ube cake for the rest of my life. A complete waste of money. Definitely not recommended to anyone.

This place has amazing pastry! We bought a lot of them to try them all and none of them disappointed, the guy that works there (probably the owner) is super nice and he even gave us a freebie because he realized that we wanted to try many different styles. Totally recommended!!!

Since my previous review below, the original Filipino owners have sold, the new owners taking over in the last month or so. I was cautiously optimistic. The layout has changed, prices the same, BUT: 5 visits and no sausage rolls. Pies still OK but a few pies later and after complaining, everything in the warmer is almost cold (so much for “hot pies”). Not what it was. Hoping to see an improvement. My previous review: “Best pies and pastries and excellent value. My favourite is their sausage rolls - tasty, tangy, moist, flakey pastry, good size, great price. Its an improvement on an old favourite.”.

We keep coming back for Trigo’s awesome ube pan de sal (we stuff some cheese in them and heat them in the microwave for a couple of minutes—perfect) but their sausage rolls are also really really good!
