Had some experience with a few Akl halls. Rate Uni Hall great for first years. Probably the best if you want to have a successful first year.
Good quality hall, one of the better from what I have heard of others. Can be strict on rules, mainly as it is seen as the one with the smart student/reputation to uphold
A review of Unihall: To start my time in University Hall (Towers) I was planning to apply for RA and by the end I couldn't wait to leave. I met some awesome people who I can't wait to keep as friends and others who if I never see again, it's too soon. My friends and floor had a few unexpected and unfavourable things happen which left a negative taste on our tongues. Each time something happened and we tried to get help from the hall, upper management acted poorly in one way or another. Jacob Waitere (area manager) said the N word infront of some mates, when someone had an ambulance called for them he held up his hand as we tried to talk to him and walked off, and also refused to help someone who almost died as "we're adults now, and can sort ourselves out". Both receptionists were absolutely lovely and helped out more than anyone else, they both deserve a raise. Other management staff were kinda useless and my 10 y/o cousin could've done a better job of running a hall catering to 550 people (who are leaving home for the first time). Overall this hall had the potential to be a great place to nurture and develop students but due to the overall incompetent management and RA's that acted more as a police than support network, the hall fell short in every aspect.
