Brought my pet dog to VSA yesterday night, awesome receptionist that could fit me in straightaway after my phone call. Got a detailed explanation and report from the friendly vet Hazel. Easy to approach and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended if you need to bring your pet for emergency services!!!! Thank you team for the great service and high level of professionalism.

I have to admit, my vet (Rob Gordon) is my favourite vet in the world. He detected osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in my dog Buddy's leg in April 2019 through sheer diligence and referred me to the team at VSA for biopsy. On 17 March 2019 the team at VSA performed an amputation, followed by chemotherapy. Buddy has taken to life on 3 legs like a duck to water. His recovery was smooth, if you want the very best complex vet care VSA is the place to go. The staff are absolutely wonderful and I am beyond greatful for their expertise and kindness. It wasn't a cheap exercise by all means, but my boy is still going strong with no signs of cancer. Thank you so much!

I had to take my sick cat in, who unfortunately had to be put down. The doctor was amazing. She was empathetic, ran through my options without me feeling bad about choosing euthanasia and was so supportive, friendly, just really nice in a horrible situation. It could not have been a better experience in the circumstances and I'm really, really thankful to her.

I was there this morning 10 am Because my dog can't give birth to puppies. I was told that needed an emergency operation. It cost me 7000 to 8000 NZD up more I can't afford it at all Pay 220, 10 mins consulting fees Fortunately, I hurried to the animal hospital I am familiar with. They immediately treated me with surgery . My dog gave birth to six puppies smoothly within 2 hours time My dog and I returned home safely in the afternoon. After I saw the bill, it was very reasonable. nzd 2680 I have a very big question in my mind, why is there such a big difference? It's really going to triple! For specialists??

You saved my dog Tilly's life! Thank you Dr Cleary! I realised my dog was in trouble and I rushed her to Veterinary Specialists Auckland where Dr. Hannah Cleary and her expert team quickly discovered fluid around Tilly's heart... they removed the fluid...kept safe watch on her overnight and were able to get her back home on medications until further tests can be done. Thank you so much for your excellent service and care everyone.

Was really unimpressed and very upset after calling in last night. I have a 7 week old kitten whom I RESCUED because the SPCA would not take it. He needed iv fluids last night (recommended by a vet) and all my money is gone until I’m paid, iv spent it on his vet visits and going to emergency with him. I offered to hand my passport and mobile phone to you to keep if you could just allow me to pay you next week but you refused. The First Lady I spoke to said she’d call me back with an answer and never did, I was literally left hours waiting with a dying kitten to not receive the call. When I called back and begged another lady for help, all she could say was “I feel for you” the more I begged her, the more irritated she seemed to get. When I asked her what if I surrender him to you she said “I don’t know what else to tell you” She finally went and asked the vet if they’d take him if I surrendered him and they would but by now I didn’t trust that they would not just euthanise him since they weren’t prepared to treat him without full payment. It’s just sad when members of the public are spending their last cent on animals in need yet the only vets that had a small enough catheter to give him iv fluids refused to help him. It’s actually heartbreaking that he meant so little to you. This is a community problem, where was the compassion? It hurt my pride a lot to beg you for help crying down the phone. Iv never felt so helpless in my life. There needs to be a system in place where people can set up a payment plan. This should be more than just money to you! Or else you’re in the wrong job...

I found a hedgehog in the back yard, it was really sick, it has ticks in its ears. Poor thing... The doctors are very nice and they got a basket with pillow inside, that’s all I see. The door was closed cuz it is during lockdown. The doctor bowed to me, that re so kind. ️

On Saturday evening (9ish), we were concerned with our cat (second day with her not eating much, and sleeping all day). We did a google search and VSA was the only one open. We called in and made the appointment. Doctor that looked at Indie was very professional, reliable and insightful. We left feeling relieved and armed with the knowledge on how to care for Indie. Facility was also very nice and clean. Definitely recommend for all your pet emergencies !!
