The amazing Ecozip, the Batch and Peacock Sky vineyard / restaurants are nearby. The Lodge is adjacent to the Whakanewha Regional Park with bush walks to the beach. Whakanewha is Maori meaning "to shade the eyes from the setting sun" when you have seen the fabulous sunsets from The Lodge, you will see how the park got its name. The two-story upper level is impressively spacious with its central kitchen and huge living areas with wood fire opening out through french doors to the veranda where guests can relax, enjoy a meal and take in the magnificent sunset views. The lounge incorporates a full entertainment system, Plasma screen, Sky sport TV, Playstation 3, Blueray DVD player, selection of DVD's and dual high speed wireless internet connections. The Waiheke Lodge can be easily reached by ferry from the Auckland CBD - 35 minutes, plus a taxi ride. In addition the Lodge has access to a private airfield NZKE that is available by appointment.
