Was very nice zoo not crazy large but large enough for the kids to spend the day having fun watching all the animals. Even some close encounter if you happen to be there at the right time. Nice setup and they have nice good looking healthy animals. Rhinos, giraffes and zebras were our faves.

This was my first visit to Hamilton Zoo, and it was a lovely walk, around a huge park area, full of a variety of different animals. There is seating dotted here and there, along the way, and toilet facilities as well. A beautiful wetlands is full of different birds, like macaws and other parrots. And an assortment of different primates, including the amazing chimpanzees. Close to the end of the walk are Sumatran tigers, giraffes, and huge rhinoceros. There is so much to see, plus if you need to stop for a drink or a sandwich, there is a small cafe next to the entry/exit. It was so worth going through, so go and see for yourself.
Amazing day out. The animals are well looked after with a big focus on conservation and education. There are many new things coming such as thr new cafe and I can't wait for all the improvements
The Hamilton Zoo was awesome, a little something for everyone. Really great set up for viewing the animals in a natural environment. I would suggest getting their early as the Zoo appears to be a popular destination.26 per adult is a very reasonable entry fee. We easily spend 3 hours wandering around and could have spent longer. Great selection of wildlife, as stated before a little something for everyone. Highly recommend the Zoo for an outing.
Enjoyed my visit here with my 11 year old. Lots of picnic spots available all around the place. The animals looked very well taken care of. The cafe would be much better with a bit more variety.
Beautiful zoo! The Cafe inside had great food and the coffee was delicious! We did the whole thing in 3 hours with a 7year old and 20minth old so really good we thought!
It's not a bad Zoo but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. If you're in town and need to kill an hour or 2 then go for it. Most of the enclosures have a viewing window that is pretty dirty making it hard to see that animals or take pictures, they also seem a little old school. The layout isn't intuitive either. They do have construction in the works and plans for more animals to move in such as Cheetah, might be worth a visit then. Plenty of shaded areas and toilets around the zoo which is great.
Great value for money with such a wide range of things to do and see. Fantastic opportunity for your children to experience animals they wouldn't normally come across. Absolutely love it
