Thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay. The owner was very friendly and made us feel so welcome, as well as giving us cool ideas of things to do up there. The perfect little getaway.

What a fabulous 3 days we spent here in our caravan. An awesome large powered site, with sea views, bird song and rolling hills. John, the owner is one special guy, he goes out of his way in an authentic Kiwi way to make you feel welcome and to give you an experience. We were lucky enough to try out his seafood chowder, all prepared from his fresh catch of the day, which was absolutely delicious, and feast on some of John's venison, plus in the evenings we sat around a roaring log fire, in-between listening to vinyl on a record player and indulging in a game of John's friendly style pool, great if your not that good like us! The whole experience at the campsite and it's proximity to places of interest is a must if you want to feel that you are immersing yourself in what is available locally and meeting the people that live there.

Did a day trip out to Cape Palliser and stopped on the way back to Wellington. Awesome friendly genuine staff and owner. Got a drink and coffee which I was thought was moderately priced for the location as it’s isolated there and ages away from the nearest town/supermarket. Although I did not stay here the cabins and and common areas looked cosy with the a genuine Kiwi atmosphere and decor that made me want to come back.
