Wow! What amazing food, I highly recommend the crayfish tortellini. Best pasta dish I’ve EVER had. The Promiscuous Plum was fantastic on a warm evening too. The hospitality is what really makes this place special. From the moment we walked in, I felt at home. A wonderful place to have dinner, with super attentive staff and lovely management. The staff were well presented and went the extra mile to ensure I enjoyed our time. If you drive past, your are in Carterton, or want a fantastic meal, stop in at Balter Kitchen & Bar.

Under new ownership, def going back for date night. The gin cocktails were strong and interesting choices to pick from. Food and drink menu looks really interesting and there's alot to try. Service and atmosphere are excellent. Didn't quite get 5 stars as there were a few minor things I would have liked to see with the food before giving 5/5. Looking forward to my next visit!!!
Just had an amazing dinning experience at Balter bar. Service was fabulous and the food totally superb recommend to all one happy customer. Thank you will be back.

Absolute hidden gem! Everything I tried was exceptional. An honest 10/10 on food and hospitality. I can't stress enough how much you need to go here.
Amazing food, good drinks selection, attentive staff, good vegeterian options, sunny courtyard and play space for kids. Will make a point of stopping and booking ahead next time we are in town. Food was quick to come out despite being super busy.
