I hired a Budget Rental Car out of Queenstown - returned to Chch Airport. Was overcharged a total of 141.55 based on: (1) They charged me for the vehicle refuel of another vehicle (an additional 67.74). (2) Another financial error in their calculations (73.81). Has taken almost 2 months and dealing with around a dozen different people in their offshore customer service team to remedy this. To their credit they repaid the error but begs the question how many others are overcharged.

SLACKEST service ever. Have been trying to call for 3 hours and no one answering in regard to a renatl car booking mishap. Call center only. Absolutely hopeless. USE ANOTHER COMPANY INSTEAD

The service really cannot be any worst. the only star for the vehicle itself. Everyone is not responsible for what they said. Been through 3staff and every later ones says the formers are wrong, thus nothing they can do. In fact, nothing is been down expect for taking the rent. The payment system is also confused. They take the money when drop off, which no one do so. Why can’t you be convenient like others? The time we drop off at when the counter just start to work. James just told us the day before we can definitely pay cash at counter(pay by card have surcharge) when we pick up the staff says the same thing. Yet the lady on the drop off day says James were wrong, if you want to pay by cash you have to do the check in case any damage, and the check guy haven’t work yet.Other staffs don’t know that? Is your staff trained? So we end up paying surcharges and take lots of New Zeland dollar back to Australia. During the whole thing none of the staff tried to think for the customers and no one even say they are sorry. It not even feels like a integral. I thought Budget AU is worse enough. Turns out I’m wrong.

Don't use over charges. The tank was only 3/4 full so i filled it back up to that level. However i was charged an additional 50 NZ for the petrol which i did not use. I did contact budget but no response. I had used them in Australia before but now, never again. DON'T USE unless you also want over charging. If this is your very last resort, then make sure you take a picture of the tank and miles next to one another. Not that they will believe you.

The process for getting my already booked rental car is very slow and the staff member was unfriendly. I’m using my driving license which has all my information in two languages Arabic and English, but the staff wouldn’t accept it without an additional translation which costed us additional 69 NZD. This was an unusual measure as I have driven by this driving license in the Northern Island of NZ, USA, and Europe. I would stay away from Budget!
