I've used them before and they've been ok but I'm reviewing the latest blood test, 1 vial of blood taken by a lady. I've informed SCL of the staff member. She was just rough, I had that feeling about her before the needle went in I should have trusted my instinct and just left. She jabbed the needle in excessively quickly, then when she withdrew and applied pressure there was a large amount of pain, now days later I have a 15cm long purple and yellow bruise. How hard is it? Taking blood should be one of the most basic skills learnt in nursing school, she needs to go back to med school.

Amateurs!!! Complete and total disorganised place. The receptionist is not always there and when he was he mixed up the arrival order of patients. More interested in his lunchtime than anything else. I ended up waiting extra 20 mins after being told to go into an exam room then he went for his lunch and don't tell a staff member where I was or that I was waiting. After I was seen the staff member did not clean the blood sample area or sanitised her hands.
This is incorrect information. The laboratory is actually now known as Canterbury SCL and is located in Canon Wilford Wing of the St George's hospital, accessed from the Heaton street entrance not on Heaton street itself as indicated on the map. This can be very misleading for our patients. We also have a collection centre in the Milford Chambers, also on the St George's hospital site but most commonly accessed from Papanui Road.
