What a great place! Being surrounded by a multitude of floofy felines might not be everybody's cup of tea but it sure is mine. With a relaxed and quiet atmosphere this café is definitely cool for cats of the 4 or 2 legged kind. There is also a brilliant Misson behind the tea and coffee, all rescue cats and available for adoption to genuine forever homes.

My friend and I went together for the Wednesday morning session at 10 -11am. We practically had the place to ourselves and all the cats are most active in the morning. The staff were very friendly. The price was very good for the wonderful experience we had. The drinks served were very well made and we're a great addition to our visit. I'll 100% be visiting again. Many of the cats there are adoptable (however most during out visits the applications were closed). They also have a couple resident cats.

I visited Catnap Cafe while in Christchurch for work from overseas, and enjoyed every minute of it! The coffee is good, the cats are friendly and clearly happy, and the staff are easy-going and good at their jobs. Nate was very friendly and stayed a while to chat with us about the cats and their operation in general. I'm thoroughly impressed with the whole experience, and highly recommend you visit if you like coffee and cats! I made sure to book online so that I knew my spot was available, and will definitely be visiting again in the future.

I brought my 4 year old boy in here a while back before there was a rule about bringing kids under 5.. the service was good and coffee was nice! but I felt the whole time that I wasnt welcome with my child... I felt really judged by the owners and they kept coming to tell me to make sure my child was quiet even when he being really well behaved. They continued to make me feel like we were unwelcome guests. I understand that they want to protect the cats but I think perhaps catnap should have a no children at all rule if they are going to make an almost 5 year old feel like hes a massive threat to the cats even when he was being very well behaved and has a cat himself at home who he loves and treats with respect.

What a relaxing experience! Gorgeous cats who are all very well cared for and happy. Very welcoming and clean. Will definitely be back your vegan cakes looked delicious.
