Mariana the owner is so full of excitement and passion and love for perfumes and it is so infectious! She had us sniffing all the perfumes after asking what my favourite type of scent was (fruity) and explained the notes of each one. I was enjoying it so much that 2 hours had already passed without knowing, until we'd left the store and my boyfriend told me their closing time was 6pm (we'd come in at 5.30 and left at 8) and it was a shock! There was no indication from her that she was actually staying late way past close and on the contrary she was eager to show us almost every single perfume. One of the best customer service experiences I've ever had in my life!! She wasn't even particularly trying to sell me anything but wanted to share the beauty of the perfumes, to savour and appreciate them. About the perfumes - she aims to stock niche brands that are difficult to find or unavailable in the Australasian region, like Lalique and Masaki, to differentiate from the mainstream market. I'd never heard of them before but they smelled delicious and purchased two samples to try (she doesn't usually do this but was so obliging and accommodating!!). Her husband mentioned they'd only been open one month but I'm sure once people start discovering this gem they'll be so busy, not only because of its central location in a tourist hub Cathedral Junction but especially once they meet Mariana and her friendly husband. It is also why the selection at the moment is a bit limited. If you are in Christchurch definitely check it out! You will likely pass by, as the i-site/tourist info centre is there as well. There's also a cute store next door called Blast From the Past that sells old school Nintendo/Playstation/GameCube consoles and games, playing cards etc - a pocket of nostalgic awesomeness.
