I did my my whole paragliding training from intro to PG2 pilot license with Grey and his team (Jean and Ryan) and I can’t recommend enough. They are great instructors and definitely made the learning curve easy for all. Their enthusiasm for paragliding and teaching will make you fall in love with the sport. Grey can cater to everyone depending on their learning types and time restraints. Grey really takes his time to get to know each and everyone and welcomes you into his home, (make sure to have some lollies during theory). Grey really makes you feel part of the paragliding family. Grey has tons of knowledge, experience and lots of good flying stories. All the instruction and gear are top quality. Lots of different wings and gear to try before you look into purchasing your own. I know I’ll be seeing the team around Taylor’s Mistake for many years to come and look forward to flying with them in many more. Have a go with Grey and the team, you won’t want to go anywhere else. 10/10 :)

Just finished my PG1/PG2 course with Grey and his team and it was an awesome experience, Thank you guys! Cloudbase Paragliding school was a great place to start learning about this amazing sport, Grey and his team have decades of experience with flying on sites all around the world and more importantly, with teaching others to fly. I feel more confident and comfortable in the air after the course and look forward to pursue this new passion:)
Super stoked to have done my PG2 with Grey at Cloudbase. Grey is a natural teacher- he is kind, patient, encouraging, and great at explaining both the theoretical and practical aspects of flying. If you're thinking about trying paragliding for the first time - this is the school to do it with. Grey, Jean and the rest of the team are the absolute best at what they do - second to none!. The equipment is in excellent shape, they have access to the best training fields in the country (you actually get to properly fly the first day!) and they provide an environment that's challenging, safe, supportive and rewarding. I choose this place based on the reviews, completing my intro day, pg1 and pg2 here, and there's a good reason they have five stars. I just cannot recommend this school enough!
I trained with 5 professional paragliding instructors in NZ and a handful of trainees/helpers. Grey (Cloudbase) provided clear competent progressive instruction, the highest level of safety, excellent quality equipment, is well organised and the overall learning experience was seamless and totally enjoyable. Honest after course personalised suggestions for equipment and further guidance around flying in general because I was going to fly in other areas. An authentically friendly instructor who I saw give quality attention and support to each student based on their individual needs, abilities and goals. So happy I can fly
Can not recommend enough!! I did my Pg1 and Pg2 with the team here. It was fantastic every step of the way, from starting off, to tips about gear and much more. The flying was fantastic and learned a lot from the instructors. Amazing sites around Christchurch and awesome team. Cheers guys was bloody brilliant.
If you want to learn to fly in Christchurch, this is the place to do it! Fantastic training from Grey and the whole team, learning to fly here has been a real pleasure. Well equipped with gear and vehicles - you'll never have to walk up the hill! The instructors are extremely experienced, so after completing PG2 I'm confident and comfortable flying. They're very flexible - Grey even worked on New Year's Day to make the most of a good weather opportunity.
I recently finished my PG2 with Cloudbase and couldn't be happier with my choice of school. Grey and the team all have a clear passion for paragliding. This translates to the tuition where it is apparent that making sure the students are safe and competent comes before simply getting them through the course. If you are on the fence about trying paragliding, the intro day is a fantastic way to give it a go.
