Fanfare stands at the northern entrance to Christchurch. There's easy parking provided on the southern exit of the motorway and the road north to Kaiapoi. The structure is large and industrial. It is pretty much unimpressive close up. However at night it lights up and cycles through colours and looks fabulous especially from a distance.

I left Christchurch to live in Europe, just after I left, they put this thing in. I think it's pretty good, along with the new bridge by the airport, on Johns Rd, it gives Christchurch a contemporary and a more presentable face for newcomers. I like it. You could say, I'm a fan...
Some people hate this sculpture and think its a big ugly waste of rate payers money. Those people need to get some real problems in their lives. 5 stars
It's nice to see it when your heading back to Christchurch it allways means to me I don't have much further to go.
