Booked online- 20 minutes late from confirmed booking time. Company couldn’t have cared less despite 2 phone calls to follow up taxi’s whereabouts. An absolutely pathetic, inferior and sub par taxi service with no respect for customers - just avoid. So many other decent taxis around

Used wheelchair taxi service for my mother who is in residential care with palsy to take her out for her 71st birthday. Pick up was fine but no one turned up at booked pick up time. I had arranged this a week in advance. Called their line multiple times and was told there were no drivers available, no ETA and also received no empathy. Called a locally owned competitor, total mobility, who arranged someone to be there with no notice within 20 minutes. Insult to injury, I got a call almost four hours later from the driver from first direct to pick us up. I could have pushed her back by then. Made a formal complaint including notifying the health and disability commissioner due the the multiple other reviews here where people have suffered same fate. First Direct told me that they'd look into it and that what happened was unacceptable. Their formal response was due some weeks ago and to no one's suprise, it didn't turn up. Do not use them. They do not reserve drivers for your booking, rather they just pray they have a driver not on another job when you need them (clearly providing for people with disabilities is a lower priority than school sports days).

Booking online, very easy,,I had 1 on pre book for next day and 1 on a now booking, 1st 5 min b4 requested(excellent), 2nd within 1min(fluke right outside nearly,but brilliant). Price compared to other cabs taken in past, approx same distance,unmatchable. Driver service was also spot on would absolutely recommend, because uber does not work on even playing field ( fees, cameras, licensing,insurance etc)

Took a taxi to a friends on the weekend, a journey of 7.0 KM, cost was on the meter was 30.50 which I thought was eye wateringly expensive and I paid by eftpos but I was not told there was a further charge for using the eftpos and the bill ended up at 33.20, the most expensive taxi ride I've ever taken and I come from Auckland! I took an uber to go home and it only cost 15! Massive rip off. The driver went on a real tiki tour to go to my friends place as I found the uber driver took a more direct route home. Never taking another taxi in Christchurch again.

I called first direct taxis to get an idea of cost to the hospital and to find out if the cars had eftpos. I was told it would be around 20. I was happy with that and went ahead with the booking. Nice friendly driver. Good car, good driver. No complaints there. When I got to the hospital it came to 24. A bit more than around 20. But ok, needs must. I then went to pay and there was an eftpos charge of 2.30. This bought the round 20 charge to now be over 26. Now that is not what I call around 20. Very disappointed in the call center for not telling me there was an eftpos charge and not including it in the estimate. Sorry, but poor customer service like that means I won't be using first direct taxis agsin for some time, if ever. I have filled in the report requested of others who have a low score. Thanks.

Ordered a wheelchair service twice. They arrived promptly and dropped him off. The time to pick up was not as simple. 1.15pm, and no one had arrived. I called, and the lady said they were busy and that it won't be too long (however she could not give me a time of how long it will take). When I asked why I was not contacted her excuse was they did not have my number. That was a lie as i had recieved a message earlier that day when they had picked up my father so I couldn't understand how they had my number but she didn't. So we waited in the rain! 1.33pm the van arrived. Still had to pay the full fare. What a joke! There customer service is a joke as well. Not happy at all. Gave an extra star for the pickup earlier in the day. It's not hard to pick up someone at the time that is requested otherwise don't bother asking for a time. Won't be using your services again. Gold band is consistent and worth the extra dollars. Go GOLD BAND!
