The park is incredibly huge to go around. I saw many big trees and people going out to enjoy the play. It is just very good to go out in the sunny day. I visited in Winter so I haven't seen the better part of it but I believe it is beautiful when flowers blooms and leaves start giving red and yellow color.

For me the most beautiful Park in the world. How lucky are we to enjoy this gem. Through all Season's as the "tide ebbs and flows". With every visit immense gratitude is felt for the initiatives and hard work of the 1st settlers to Canterbury. And the present day team who keep this space in immaculate shape for all to enjoy. Canterburys treasure. Thank you.

Whether you like this park depends on what you want out of a park. It’s huge, which is great and every city should have a park this size. It seems that the majority of the space in this park is for sports (golf, cricket, rugby, and some others). The botanic garden is a good place for a picnic or to let small kids play with the playground and pool. I’d prefer more casual park space to vast expanses of shadeless grass that is reserved for sports. My favourite spot is between the botanic garden and the new hospital, especially in the spring when the flowers are out.

Perfect retreat after awful surrounding traffic blocks. Recommend 2 hrs visit. Cafe and gardens are all lovely. Parking is free for 3 hrs so walking from there is a perfect way to gather calm before and after visiting the public hospital (which is impossible for parking otherwise and cost s 15 it so for a visit)

Hagley park is the jewel in the central Christchurch crown. Magnificent selection of trees and gardens. Just a great place for a stroll, read a book or just sit in the shade and chill. Cafe and toilet facilities along with an excellent children's playground. Something for everyone and only a five minute walk from the CBD.

Very peaceful.picnic spot handy to the carpark for botanical gardens. Nice shade and in autumn the falling leaves are beautiful. There are ducks to feed and lots of places to picnic.
