On holiday in Christchurch we went into Ilam Toyota to look at a second hand car, we ended up with a new Toyota Yaris. This was a totally new experience, we dealt with Jayden who made this a smooth and painless process, the price for our trade was more than I expected, and I liked the all inclusive price of the Toyota, no add ons or extras. Because of supply problems we had to wait 6 weeks for the car to arrive, I drove from Nelson to pick up the car and again was greeted by Jayden who fully explained all the features of the vehicle. I was very happy with the service I received from Ilam Toyota.

Terrible service. Took in a car that had a minor issue. Asked them to run a diagnostic on it which was quoted at 100, and once that was done to give a call and let me know the issues. And then depending on the issues, would possibly want it serviced and a new air filter. They rang me 2 days later stating the car would need 1700 of work done, on a car they themselves valued at 1250. Told them I did not want them to do any further work and went to the yard to pick up vehicle. Upon arrival was presented with a 445 bill for a full service, a new air filter and the requested diagnostics. Was told I had to pay 445 otherwise they would not give me back the vehicle. Was forced to pay them for work I did not approve or want. And now have to follow this up in small claims court and waste more time to get back the money they have fraudulently forced me to pay. 1 star is still to high praise for these con artists.

You do pay for quality products and can get the service you know will be fix you car. The vehicles they sell are all registered and warranted as well as serviced. They sell a complete range of vehicles and are proactive about getting in contact with you over servicing. Unfortunately they were not responsive with servicing. After being absolutely assured the parts would arrive they didn't arrive. Then blaming the Cook Straight Ferry for not meeting a crossing? They had the time to stop me driving across town from Redwood to Ilam but didn't txt or phone. They pride themselves on great customer service but this time Toyota's service department missed the mark.

One stop all done!!!!!...... Looking for a new car is akin to going to the dentist for me. I want to get in and out ASAP with as little pain in the wallet and the process as possible. Ilam Toyota's team is my answer. The team assisted us with a painless, positive, and perfect purchase of a new Corolla!!! I had done research and Toyota was the clear car of choice. The whole experience was great !!! We are enjoying a great car ....but watch the new speed 60kph limit in West Melton which my wife was reminded of .... However that is not the Corolla's fault. Very happy with the car and the experience. Thank You Ilam Toyota !!!
