This place was great it was well worth the drive out of the city to visit it. What is in the photos are a coffee jelly an creme brulee a mix nigiri plate and a beef plate all of which tasted great

Absolutely one of the best Japanese Restaurants around. Food was high quality and fresh. Booking is recommended. Although serving size maybe a bit small for some, I certainly enjoyed my Dinner Bento.

I wanted to try this place for a while and I finally did recently. Well... What to say... You must come over here that you already had dinner... The dishes are pretty tiny and there is no way they can make you full. The service is very nice, we liked it, but if you consider the fact we went we had already eaten and ended up spending 60 each and being still hungry, maybe the place is a bit overpriced . The food is pretty good, especially considering they have a lot of fish and this is New Zealand, but with the amount of food they serve you per dish and the price, I cannot really give over 3 star.

Highly recommend! We had a larger booking, but the service was still fast and our servers were beyond lovely! The fish was some of the freshest we have ever had and presented so beautifully. Thank you to the team at Kinji for the great experience!

Kinji is BY FAR the best restaurant in Christchurch! The food was impeccable -- pickled smoked radish and eel and burdock with egg were particularly amazing. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with everything. Thank you so much to the chef and everyone!

Amazing food, fantastic service, the restaurant is a little noisy ( bad acoustics) but you must try it, definitely book recommendations octopus balls, tempura chicken and coffee jelly with icecream beautiful people who go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience.
