Maybe I'm repeating what everyone else is saying but they have very, I mean very pushy sales staff and would often push to the point you don't even want to take a look at the jewelry anymore. There's also this lady that repetitively pushed me and the person I was with to get something more and she kept doing this even when we were literally walking away from the store, it was quite annoying. I had recently bought a pair of silver hoop earrings once and found that the locks were loose so I returned it to get a pair that had more of a secure lock, I received a free pair of silver snowflake earrings because of the hoop earrings I returned and when I got home, one of the silver snowflake earring backs were loose and it was the same as one of the hoop earring I got replaced, I ended up fixing it on my own because I couldn't be bothered to return it anymore.

And the award for worst customer service goes to...Michael Hill Riccarton. The lady's at this store have zero, and I mean zero, customer service skills. Extremely rude, aggressively pushy and out-right disrespectful staff. We went to pick up a pair of earrings that they had 3 pairs shown in stock (checked by another store) however when we got there, they said they didn't have them, and then they did have them, and then another customer had them, and then finally they didn't have them at all. It was very confusing and they kept changing the story and were extremely rude throughout the process. We have been to this store multiple times and consistently get poor customer service. They continuously offer us products out of our specified price range, and will not listen when we highlight our price range again. Another experience was when my partner went in with her Mum, and the staff asked if they were using Dad's credit card. They are divorced and he has terminal cancer therefore is unable to work, so does not have a large income. They are independent people who have their own incomes and do not need to rely on "Dad's credit card" to get by. If you want to shop at a Michael Hill store, go to the Northlands store. We went there on the same day and they had excellent customer service. I could not fault the Northlands store in any way, which is the complete opposite of the Riccarton store.
Absolute bunch of liers, did not sign up my finances like you said you would when I brought my item, now I owe gem double the rate you set out. You are out to rip people off and cheat on them. Do not truth these bunch of jokers at all unless you want to get ripped off
Only problem they made my wife's ring in gold when I ordered white gold. We were given the first ring to use until the error could be fixed. I thought that was a nice gesture. But the Ruby on white gold is us and we love it
Very pushy sales staff, clearly working for commission or the like,l. I went to look for a men's weeding ring and they tried to get me to buy my fiancé at the same time even though I told them I didn't know her ring size. They kept asking if I was going to buy today and I told them that I was just looking. The special if I brought straight away was 599 for a 10k yellow gold ring and I asked what a 14k gold ring would cost and was quoted 1500. I can get the same ring on blueNile.com in 14k gold for 639NZD from The States which is what I am leaning towards. To be honest I don't even consider 10k gold to be "gold" as there is more alloy's (nickel, copper, silver) then gold in the ring. Stewart Dawson's sell 9k gold which is also preposterous in my view although I experienced far better customer service there as the team member there wasn't blatantly trying to ram a sale down my throat if I was going to support locally I would opt for Stewart Dawson's instead due to their better customer service.
The store owner is awesome but the Lady Nav is the worst to deal with. She straight away lied to us she had no knowledge, she kept on insisting us to buy the expensive set i understand the commissionsystem but u can't force us. Never going back to deal with her. Will deal with owner only.

Honestly the most disgusting arrogant and pushy staff you'll ever have to deal with Shaming people by their appearances, talking sh*t about their customers VERY LOUDLY BY THE WAY And in doing this shamed my by the way Millionaire best friend out of getting an engagement ring with their boyfriend, lost a future model/actor customer and everyone who will ever come into contact with the three of us as we now have a new nightmare customer service story lmao.
