June 2019 Update: Back in 2017, we kicked off a crowdfunding campaign and with the help of over 250 incredible supporters the idea of Necesse became a reality. Two years down the track, we have now reached a new stage with our plans for Necesse and while we finalize our next steps, Necesse will be taking a hiatus. Although we won’t be offering our subscriptions during this time, we will continue to keep our charity partner Aviva fully stocked. About us: We are Necesse. A New Zealand, female-owned social enterprise providing a convenient service for the delivery of quality organic cotton tampons. Every order delivered to our subscribers results in the donation of a box worth of organic cotton tampons to at-risk women, through our charitable partner Aviva. Our mission is to support women to be their best. We are passionate about the work we do at Necesse and the community we have built. Every new subscriber helps to address the issue of period poverty in New Zealand, restoring dignity to at-risk women who have limited access to safe feminine hygiene. In 2017 we successfully completed our crowdfunding campaign on PledgeMe and launched our customisable subscription service nationwide in New Zealand. In 2018 we were shortlisted for 2018 The Retail Hotlist 'Hottest subscription model'​ and featured in Stuff, Scoop, The Press, Idealog, Good Magazine and The Register. In July, we collaborated with New Zealand ethical streetwear brand Arc & Bow, featuring their latest print on our limited edition packaging. In July we supported the Christchurch City Mission 'Brown Paper Bag Appeal'​ and the toiletry drive 'Soap for Society'​. To date, our social impact subscription model has allowed us to donate more than 5,000 tampons (and counting) to women in need on behalf of our subscribers.
