Sheena Ross was my midwife and she was excellent and so was her partner Heidi Goebells. I cannot recommend them enough. My pregnancy, birth and postnatal experience was exactly how I wanted it. I had an amazing home birth and couldn't be happier. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Review for Sheena Ross: Sheena is such an experienced midwife who is a very genuine human being too. She is very patient and understands the situation well. A few things which are an absolute must and Sheena nails all of them. -Experience -Good nature -Positive attitude -Helpfull -Good relations with the hospital and staff around the city -She is well known in the industry -She knows the science behind things -She is very respectfull about other cultures and understands them -A mother herself! - A brilliant all rounder and she just loves what she does We just feel blessed to have her as our midwife. I had Sheena Ross as my midwife, and I honestly can't recommend her highly enough. She is brilliant, happy, supportive and super down to earth. I was instantly at ease with her, and knew my care was in very capable hands. She was very supportive through my issues breastfeeding, and has a plethora of great tips and advice. Her back up midwife Heidi was fabulous too. Great team!
We had our first born with Heidi and Sheena. The best people to have with us throughout the journey. It has created such a special bond. Our views and values were respected and facilitated throughout the entire process. We have so much respect and trust for them. Because of their support it allowed us to have the birth at home we always dreamed of. Highly recommend!
Sheena Ross was solid. A shame (the one * comment taints good work and a company can’t respond) they can’t respond to someone having a rant. Easy to lie about what has happened and they can’t respond. Always two sides to a coin. Sheena was positive, supportive and went out of her way to support us. She came to our birth even though we were not showing clear signs. Thankful she was willing to inconvenience herself to come out of my wife’s need, thankful she did as the baby came moments just before she was there. She was positive, caring, accessible when needed. I would be wary of someone scorned. Everything I have seen written on that review doesn’t match our experience. Ours wasn’t perfect, but life isn’t, the great thing Sheena did was show us she was genuine and supportive, the main traits you need from a midwife. Keep up the great work Sheena, your true professionalism will show through, don’t let one bad apple spoil what is actually going on :)
Well, where do I start.. there are so many positive things to write. My husband and I met with Heidi from Rata Midwives for the first time in July last year. From the day we met with her, she was very kind, caring, knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and had a sense of humour! She was exactly what we were looking for in a midwife. Throughout my pregnancy, she kept me calm (because I was so worried about labor/giving birth!), answered all of our questions every time we met and we quite often talked about having a home birth. In the last few months of my pregnancy, we met Charlotte, Heidi's trainee midwife. She was amazing as well, very informative, caring and clearly doing very well to become a qualified midwife. Labor eventually started and Heidi, Charlotte and Sheena were at our house comforting me and preparing for the birth. They were all absolutely fantastic, calm and supportive. We are so happy we decided to proceed with a home birth as I felt so much more comfortable being at home - one of the best decisions we made. We have regularly been seeing Heidi and Charlotte post birth and they continue to amaze us with their knowledge. We will never be able to thank you enough for everything you have done for us in the last 9 months. We will definitely be contacting you for baby number 2!
I had the pleasure of having Sheena as my midwife for the birth of my daughter in October and I honestly don’t think I could have done it without her. From our first meeting to our last Sheena kept me informed, provided me with up to date research and advice with regards to pregnancy, labour and birth the breastfeeding support etc and throughout our journey together she always had my interests at heart. Her bubbly personality made every meeting enjoyable. Her presence at the birth of our daughter was just what I needed to feel safe and to stay calm. If I am lucky enough I will most definitely ask Sheena to be my midwife in future. She really is an amazing midwife.
I was extremely lucky to have the amazing Sheena Ross as my midwife for my boy who was born in July 17. She was/is the most amazing, attentive, caring midwife I could have ever hoped for. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great, supportive, knowledgeable, kind midwife who will always have your best interest at heart.
