This reserve is a slice of paradise in the city. It is always a wonderful visit. I leave feeling so peaceful and rejuvenated every time.

We decided to try this cafe for Sunday brunch for the first time. Beautiful setting, gorgeous ChCh autumn day, about 22.30, moderately busy but not full. Asked waiting staff when we arrived whether it was table or counter service and we're told that both worked. We were given a menu and took a seat and waited. The menu looked good and we knew exactly what we wanted. Several waiting staff walked past but didn't acknowledge us. 5 minutes later I went to the counter and asked again and was told that someone would come to see us at the table. Waited 15 more minutes while 3 waiting staff repeatedly went past, carrying food, coffees and clearing dishes. No eye contact, no acknowledgment, no offer of water, no "has anyone taken your order?" So we got up and left and went to Good Habit where we always get good food and great, friendly service. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I won't be back. Nice looking place ruined by poorly trained waiting staff.
This is a wonderful place to visit for lunch or a coffee date. It has been so beautifully restored and we enjoyed looking at all the historical things around the place. The service was great and delicious food. What a treat to sit outside in the sun enjoying the lovely gardens while we ate our lunch.
We just visited the cafe about 10minutes ago. We asked the person at the counter if they do table service. They told us yes. We sat at our table for about 10-15min. All of their waiting staff walked by us never acknowledging us or asking us if we are looked after. After waiting for what we thought was a reasonable time. We have just left the cafe. Very disappointed in the service.
Brilliant renovations done after the earthquakes. Grab a coffee and scone and sit in the garden or on the terrace. Walk through the predator free bush area and watch and listen to the birds.
Lovely venue and setting. Always enjoy visiting. ( Had my wedding reception here 2006)
What a great bush walk. There is a lot to offer here including a weekend market and historical buildings
This place is just magic. The walk is a treasure and uplifting.
