While the food is good their service definitely feels very 'mom and pop' as the restaurant has managed to screw up my booking with them twice now, either by not recording it down when I call to book or one person advising me that a particular offer is available that day that I booked only for me to call back to confirm the booking and another person telling me that the offer is not available on that because they have a cooking class on. I'd like to rage and say they need to communicate better amongst themselves and get their act together by having a book for everyone to refer to as to what is actually happening in their restaurant. My advice - walk in and try and get a table because they clearly can't handle bookings.

We went with a large group, and the staff was very very good. They were still doing a workshop when we arrived, and it was interesting to see the mix of people who entered. Our for was amazing, a predetermined menu, very flavorful. Only thing was that it was advertised as a 7 course degustation meal and it was only 4 courses if you count the sorbet ball.
Bought a "Grilled Rump Steak". This turned out to be a very small amount of not-really-cooked meat drowned in chilli and various other things. First time I've been so turned off food at a restaurant that I haven't finished. 20 implied a good sized meal, I'd expect to pay more like 10 for something like this elsewhere - had it tasted any good. I expressed my disappointment to the staff and was told I didn't know how to appreciate the food.
Returning to Canterbury after 2 years in Melaka we found this restaurant and even just walking in the door, the smell is heavenly, the decor a piece of old Melaka, and the food.... don't start me, because I might never stop! Safer just to try it.
Terrible in every way. Service. Price. Serving size. Gone to the pack.
