Awful service this afternoon after waiting almost 40 mins in line we were told we are not able to send money to Canada because we do not have a New Zealand address. We are tourists and obviously do not have an address here, because we don’t live here. We have however sent money through money gram MANY times without issue, using our Canadian address over the past 6 months. The teller was absolutely useless, told us to check the website which supposedly is the only documentation that states this as a rule. We brought up the info online and it clearly states that a New Zealand address is not necessary to send money overseas. The website online clearly states you need ID, recipients name and the recipients receiving location. That’s it. When we showed her the website after her demanding we look it up she refused to acknowledge that the information the had given us was false and did not match the website information. She had no other information to show us what we “apparently” needed. She refused to show us the forms or the information required. She attempted to shoo us away many times. Said to come talk to the manager in 2 days and leave. Clearly did not want to do her job or she would have been able to send it. We went to another Moneygram immediately after and had no issues sending money. Very unprofessional and lazy. Wouldn’t recommend.
The whole experience was just so amazing our hostess jahane was the most amazingly pleasant and efficient with a big smile and bubbly personality
Misleading communication of rates, costing 50 (in fx spread) against midmarket rate (1.04aud) for every 1k aud to nzd. Should have gone to Lotus currency exchange two shops away which show rates clearly and cost 35 aud for every 1k aud. Would've been 1 star rating for this however staff members we're friendly and polite, just missing transparency in advertising of rates.
Totally recommend - so helpful and some great travel tips as well!! - so friendly it was a pleasure visiting the kiosk thanks again :-)
Exchanged money for a trip to Bali. Great service much better than the one around the corner in the mall. Lady was lovely and even told us about places to visit in Bali.
